     Sarah L. Hoyt was born in February 1839 at Vassalboro, Maine.1,2

     Sarah, at age 31, married Edward L. Norris at age 31, son of Rufus Greenleaf Norris and Julia Ann Lovejoy, on 29 September 1870 at Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts.1

Census

     Sarah and Edward appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, at Mount Vernon Street, enumerated 12 June 1880. Edward was a boot and shoe dealer. His aunt, Dorcas Whitten, a widow was also in the home. Their children, Carlton H., Rufus L. and Julianna, and Sarah's mother, Julia were listed as living with them.3

     Sarah and Edward appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook, Illinois, at Stewart Ave, enumerated, 11 June 1900. Edward was a clerk at a railroad office. Their children, Ralph Varney and Julianna were listed as living with them.4

     Sarah and Edward appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Chicago, Cook, Illinois, enumerated 5 April 1910. Edward was living off his own income.5

     Hazel Estelle Hughes, daughter of William Samuel Hughes and Gladys May Ladd, was born on 1 March 1902 at Brownville, Maine.1,2

     Hazel and Ernest Glendon Engstrom filed a marriage intention on 26 June 1920.3

     Hazel, at age 18, daughter of William Samuel Hughes and Gladys May Ladd, married Ernest Glendon Engstrom at age 19, son of John P. Engstrom and Angelia Wood, on 19 September 1920 at Dexter, Penobscot, Maine.1

     Hazel, at age 51, daughter of William Samuel Hughes and Gladys May Ladd, married John J. Cote on 6 August 1953.4

     Hazel died at age 92, on 11 August 1994,5 and was buried at Brownville Village Cemetery, Brownville, Piscataquis, Maine.5

     Hazel and Ernest appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Brownville, Piscataquis, Maine, enumerated 17 April 1940. Ernest was working in the mason trade as a chimney cleaner and Hazel at a mill Their children, Gladys M. were listed as living with them. As an item of interest, a dollar in 1940 would equal $16.26 in the year 2012. A $3.50 gallon of milk in 2012 would have cost $.21 cents in 1940.6
