Obituary

Eunice Fenderson Dies; Emeritus Missionary

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. Eunice Fenderson, emeritus Southern Baptist missionary, died here on July 20 following a lengthy illness. She was 81 years old. A funeral service was held in Powderhorn Park Baptist Church, Minneapolis, July 23, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery here. Miss Fenderson served 38 years in the Middle East, mostly in Jerusalem. She volunteered for service in China, but when those plans failed she went to Lebanon in 1924 to teach and engage in village evangelistic work. Four years later she went to Jerusalem. Her services there were interrupted only by World War II. She was appointed as a Southern Baptist missionary in 1936. Survivors include one sister, Eliza E. Fenderson, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Berma Fenderson, both of Minneapolis, and several nieces and nephews.2
