Harvey J. Cross, husband of Florence M. Pratt
     Harvey J. Cross, son of Sharon Cross and Irene Blake, was born on 18 September 1864 at Maine.2

     Harvey J. Cross, Esq., circa 1883, although a resident of Sebec is so identified with the business interests of Dover and Foxcroft as to deserve mention in any sketch of the professional men of the towns.
He attended the common schools of the town and then entered Foxcroft Academy, graduating with the class of 1883. In1884 he entered Bates College and was graduated from that institution in 1888. Four years after leaving college, Mr. Cross was the principal of Winn, (ME) High School, and while a student at the academy and in college devoted some time to teaching, having taught in all about twenty-five terms. Mr.Cross was admitted to the Piscataquis bar in February, 1895, having read law with the late Hon. A. M Robinson. In May after his admission he formed a partnership with Mr. Robinson, which continued until the latter's death. He retains the office on Merrick Square, Dover, which for many years was occupied by Mr. Robinson. Mr. Cross' residence is in Sebec, about three miles from Dover. He is actively interested in the affairs of his native town and for two years was its superintendent of schools. Mr. Cross is one of the disclosure commissioners for Piscataquis County, also one of the bail commissioners.3


     Harvey, at age 31, married Florence Marion Pratt at age 18, daughter of Charles W. Pratt and Frances J. Garland, on 23 October 1895.4,5

     Harvey J. Cross died at age 45, on 25 December 1909, at Sebec, Piscataquis, Maine.6

     Harvey J. Cross was buried at Sebec Corner Cemetery, Sebec, Piscataquis, Maine.7
