     Asa G. Lovejoy, son of Odell Lovejoy and Rosilla P. Pillsbury, was born on 5 August 1832 at Peru, Oxford, Maine.3

     Asa, son of Odell Lovejoy and Rosilla P. Pillsbury, married Mary F. Hackett.4

     Asa, at age 27, son of Odell Lovejoy and Rosilla P. Pillsbury, married Harriet (Hattie) E. Hall on 27 October 1859 by Timothy B. Batchelder.5,6,7

     Asa left a Will on 1 February 1897 at Charleston, Penobscot, Maine, Asa had a 'Will' created the day before his death, and it read as follows:

Be it remembered that I Asa G. Lovejoy of Charleston in the county of Penobscot and the State of Maine, being of sound and disposing mind do make, publish and declare this my last Will and testament.
FIRST: I give and bequeath to my beloved children Ella F. Burrill, Minnie A. Buzzell, Horace S. Lovejoy, Edith M. Brown and Wilfred N. Lovejoy the sum of five dollars each.
SECOND: I give and bequeath to my son Wilfred N. Lovejoy all my real estate reserving my wife's right of dower in said real estate.
THIRD: I give and bequeath to my son Wilfred N. Lovejoy the balance of my personal estate after payment of the above bequest to my children and all just debts owed by me.
FOURTH: I do hereby appoint Wilfred N. Lovejoy of Charleston aforesaid, to be the sole executor of this my last Will and testament.

     Asa G. Lovejoy died on 2 February 1897 at Charleston, Penobscot, Maine, at age 64.9 and was buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor, Penobscot, Maine.10

     Asa appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Levant, Penobscot, Maine, in the household of his parents, Odell and Rosilla.11

     Asa and Harriet appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Bangor, Penobscot, Maine, enumerated 11 July 1860. Asa was working as a 'cooper'. Their children, Ella F. and Lauren D. were listed as living with them.12

     Asa and Harriet appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Eddington, Penobscot, Maine, enumerated 10 June 1870. Asa was now working as a farmer. He listed his real estate value of $1000.00 and personal Property of $870.00. Their children, Simeon Austin, Mary Addie, Minnie A. and Horace Snow, and his children, Ella F. and Lauren D. were listed as living with them.13

     Asa and Harriet appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Charleston, Penobscot, Maine, enumerated 1 June 1880. Asa, still working as a farmer. Their children, Simeon Austin, Mary Addie, Minnie A., Horace Snow, Edith Maria and Wilfred Nickols, and his son, Lauren D. were listed as living with them.14

     Attea, at age 19, daughter of John Lovejoy and Martha Odell, married William Lovejoy at age 21, son of Abiel Lovejoy and Mary Brown, on 23 May 1800 at Sidney, Maine, William was Attai's 1st cousin 1 time removed.1,2

     Attea Etta Lovejoy died on 19 April 1859 at Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnseota, at age 78.1 and was buried at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota.3

     Avaline Evelyn Lovejoy, daughter of Levi Henry Lovejoy and Martha (Mattie) Estelle Braley, was born on 28 February 1915 at Charleston, Penobscot, Maine.1,2

     Avaline, at age 19, daughter of Levi Henry Lovejoy and Martha (Mattie) Estelle Braley, married Wendell Holmes Bickmore at age 33 on 23 February 1935 at Maine.3

     Avaline died at age 76, on 28 August 1991, at Old Town, Penobscot, Maine,4 and was buried at Charleston Village Cemetery, Charleston, Penobscot, Maine.5

Wendell's mother, Elizabeth, was also in their home Their children, Joan P., Albert W. and Janice E. were listed as living with them. As an item of interest, a dollar in 1940 would equal $16.26 in the year 2012. A $3.50 gallon of milk in 2012 would have cost $.21 cents in 1940.8

AVALINE BICKMORE

BRADFORD — Avaline L. Bickmore, 76, wile of the late Wendell Bickmore, died Aug. 28, 1991, at home in Old Town. She was born in Charleston Feb. 28, 1915, the daughter of Levi and Martha (Braley) Lovejoy. She was a resident of Bradford for 50 years. Avaline was employed by Kagan Lown Co., in Old Town for 28 years. She was a member of the Hudson Grange, the Golden Age Rebekah Lodge, the Bradford Senior Citizens Club, Happy Grandmothers Club and the Bradford Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Joan Blackwell and Janice Cynewski of East Corinth, and Rosemary Kanney of Old Town; three sons, Albert of Dexter, Raymond of Charleston, and Timothy of East Corinth. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildrn, Crystal and Scott of Old Town, Kimberly and Robert of Charleston, Albert jr of Dexter, and Melody, Kelly, Andy, Tammy, Betty, Anne, Donald, David, Russell and Susan of East Corinth. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Estelle Berman; a brother, Ashley Lovejoy; an aunt, Doris Durrell; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother Wendell Lovejoy. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday at the Thompson Funeral Home, East Corinth. Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, Aug. 31, 1991, at the Bradford Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Booker, officiating. Burial will be in Charleston Village Cemetery. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to the Bradford Baptist Church, care of Thompson Funeral Home.9
