FLOYD V LOVEJOY SR

AUGUSTA — Floyd V. Lovejoy, Sr., 76, of 1° Grey Birch Drive, died in the Kennebec Valley Medical Center, Augusta Division, April 3, 1981, following a short illness. He was born Feb. 25, 1905, in Exeter, the son of Henry and Winnifred (Paine) Lovejoy. He was a member of Corinthian lodge IOOF of East Corinth was an inspector for the Maine Department of Transportation for several years, following that he owned and operated a poultry farm in Pittsfield for 35 years, retiring in 1968. He came to Augusta four years ago. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Charlene (Smith) Lovejoy of Augusta; two sons, Floyd V. Lovejoy Jr of Augusta Elwood K. Lovejoy, Sr., of Gardiner; one sister, Mrs. Delma Rowe of Camden; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Graveside committal services will be held Monday at 2:30 pm at the Dover Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft. Friends who wish may make donations in his memory to the American Cancer Soclety, Box 456, Brunswick, Maine 04011.

He was a member of the Corinthian Lodge, IOOF of East Coringh and was an inspector for the MDOT for several years. Following that he owned and operated a poultry farm in Pittsfield, ME for 35 years retiring in 1968. He then moved to Augusta, Maine in 1977 with his wife, Charlene. Together they resided for many, many summers at their camp on the Stedman's Landing Road on Sebec Lake. Floyd loved to play cards, Yahtzee, go fishing on Sebec Lake and loved to spend time with his family and friends, especially while at Sebec Lake.10,3
