     Susannah Lovejoy, daughter of Capt Hezekiah Lovejoy Jr. and Hannah Phelps, was born on 25 July 1756 at Amherst, Hillsborough, New Hampshire.1

     Susannah, daughter of Capt Hezekiah Lovejoy Jr. and Hannah Phelps, married William Odell.

     Susannah Lovejoy died on 17 March 1831 at age 74.1

     Sybil, daughter of Rev. Daniel Lovejoy and Elizabeth Gordon Pattee, married John Roy Blanchard between 1842 and 1843 at Middle Creek, Warren, Iowa.3

     Sybil Patee Lovejoy died on 11 November 1857 at Princeton, Bureau, Illinois, at age 48.1 and was buried at Oakland Cemetery, Princeton, Bureau, Illinois.4

     Thatcher died at age 87, on 14 December 1936,2 and was buried at Roseville Public Cemetery District, Roseville, Placer, California.2

MANY FRIENDS AT LAST RITES FOR T. T. LOVEJOY

Funeral services for Thatcher Townsend Lovejoy were held yesterday afternoon from the Broyer Mortuary, Roseville Lodge No 222 F. & A. M. being in charge. Interment was in the I. O. O. F. cemetery. Mr. Lovejoy was born December 1, 1849, so at the time of his death was 87 years of age. He had resided in California for 75 years, living most of that time in Placer and El Dorado counties. He was born in Carleston, Maine, and with his parents crossed the plains when a boy of 12. He resided m Roseville 20 years prior to his death, at one time being in the employ of the Southern Pacific. Before that he had made his home for many years in El Dorado county, near Georgetown. Both he and his wife, Mrs. Katharine Lovejoy, were prominent in the pioneer days of both Placer and El Dorado counties and early history of this section was one of their hobbies. Mrs. Lovejoy had kept clippings for many years of affairs intimate to this section and they were destroyed in the fire which consumed their home Monday morning at 201 C street. Mr. Lovejoy passed away Monday night from burns received. In addition to his wife, Mr. Lovejoy is survived by a son, L. L. Lovejoy of Roseville; a sister, Mrs. Maude Newman of Oakland; two brothers, Fred Lovejoy of Loomis, and Steve Lovejoy of Cool, El Dorado county, and the following grandchildren, Mrs. Kather-ine Fritsche of Sacramento; Miss Ma bel Lovejoy of Sacramento, Mrs. Pearl Ridge of Oakland and Edward Layton of Berkeley. Mr. Lovejoy was a member of the Georgetown Masonic Lodge, where he kpt his membership until the time of hrs passing. Origin of the fire which destroyed the family home on C street was unknown. Mr. Lovejoy was burned as his wife was trying to get him out to safety. Mrs. Lovejoy also was seriously burned and was taken to a hospital in Sacramento Tuesday after being cared for at the home of her granddaughter.5

     Thatcher Townsend Lovejoy, with his parents, appeared on the 1860 Federal Census in the household of his uncle, Abial and aunt, Harriet of Charleston, Penobscot, Maine.7

     Thatcher appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Greenwood, El Dorado, California, in the household of his parents, Loriston and Clara. He was working as a farm laborer.8

Burns Are Fatal To T T Lovejoy

ROSEVILLE (Placer Co) Dec 18---Funeral services for Thatcher Townsend Lovejoy, 87 ,will be held tomorrow at 2:80 P M in the chapel of the Broyer Mortuary. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Lovejoy died yesterday in an Auburn hospital as the result of burns which he suffered on Monday when his home was destroyed by fire. Lovejoy and his wife were asleep when the fire started and it was with difficulty that he was taken from the building. Lovejoy had spent practically his entire life in Placer and El Dorado Counties. He leaves his wife, Katherine, a son, L L Lovejoy of Roseville, a sister, Mrs. Maude Newman of Oakland, two brothers, Steve Lovejoy of Cool and Fred Lovejoy of Loomis and four grandchildren.9
