     James Buzzell was born.1

     James, married Betsey Hanson at age 19 on 17 February 1812 married by Rev. Mr. Taylor.2 James Buzzell and Betsey Hanson were migrating north to Wellington, Maine. The trip was a lot different at that time considering travelling today. in 1828.3
     James Buzzell witnessed a deed conveying five hundred dollars at Wellington, Piscataquis, Maine, from Edward Davis and Abigal P. Staples to Samuel D. Staples on 21 October 1854. The deed was proved by E. B. Averill at February 7, 1855...4

Oshea Buzzell1

M, b. 30 September 1837, d. 2 July 1910
     Oshea Buzzell, son of James Buzzell and Betsey Hanson, was born on 30 September 1837 at Wellington, Piscataquis, Maine.2

     Oshea Buzzell Oshea was a veteran of the Civil War. 12 AUG 1862 was enrolled as private in Company F. 20th Regt. of Maine Vols. He was wounded in battle, 3 JUN 1865 by reason of his wounds was honorably discharged from the service. on 12 August 1862.2

     Oshea, at age 27, married Solomia B. Drew at age 20, daughter of Joseph Drew and Charlettie "Surname Unknown", on 27 June 1865 at Wellington, Piscataquis, Maine.3,4,5

     Oshea Buzzell died at age 72, on 2 July 1910, at Guilford, Piscataquis, Maine. His death was caused by "Interstitial nephritis". (Interstitial nephritis is a kidney disorder in which the spaces between the kidney tubules become swollen (inflamed). The inflammation can affect the kidneys' function, including their ability to filter waste.) Valvular heart disease and cirrhosis of the liver.6

     Draxy Ricker Buzzell, daughter of James Buzzell and Betsey Hanson, was born on 18 June 1823.1

     Draxy, at age 17, married Charles Woodworth Small at age 21, son of Stephen Small and Ruth Woodworth, on 6 November 1840 at Wellington, Piscataquis, Maine, married by James Buzzell, Esq. Draxy and Charles also crossed Buzzell Brook and built a home on the land adjoining "Dog Island." Just north of their home is the cemetery where many of the Buzzells and Bussells are buried. It is now called the Ralph Huff Cemetery.1

     Draxy Ricker Buzzell died at age 54, on 22 February 1878, at Wellington, Piscataquis, Maine.1

     Due to a need for men to serve during World War I, the United States instituted a draft. The first registration was for men between the ages of 21 and 31. As a result, this first registration included men born between June 5, 1886 and June 5, 1896. David Anson Thomas filled out a draft card, on 5 June 1917 Sangerville, Piscataquis, Maine. He was described as medium height, medium build, blue eyes, and dark brown hair. At the time he was working for himself as a farmer.9

     Myrtie W. Thomas, daughter of Charles W. Thomas and Ida V. Pierce, was born on 21 October 1890 at Maine.2

     Myrtie, at age 19, married Carroll E. Starbird on 3 July 1910.3

     Myrtie W. Thomas died at age 81, on 29 May 1972, at Bangor, Penobscot, Maine.4,5

     Myrtie's obituary read as follows:
Mrs. Myrtie Stairbird, 81, widow of Charles E. Starbird died May 29 at a Bangor hospital after a short illness. She was born in Sangerville October 21, 1890, the daughter of Carroll and Ida Pierce Thomas. She attended Sangerville Schools, graduating in 1908 and also attended Farmington Normal School after which she taught for a time in District 10, Dexter. She was a charter and 50 year member of North Dexter Grange which she had served as secretary. She also belonged to Susie Carr Chapter OES of Sangerville and the First Free Baptist Church of Dexter. She is survived by five sons, George, Abner and Eugene Jr., all of North Dexter and Willard and John of Sangerville. One sister Mrs. Alice Colbry of Sangerville, also survives as do nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services are being held Thursday (this afternoon) at 2 o'clock at the Crosby-Neal Funeral Home, Dexter with the Rev. Andrew Spohrer officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.6

Carroll E. Starbird, husband of Myrtle Thomas
     Carroll E. Starbird was born in 1888.2

     Carroll, married Myrtie W. Thomas at age 19, daughter of Charles W. Thomas and Ida V. Pierce, on 3 July 1910.1

     Carroll E. Starbird died on 24 December 1948, at North Dexter, Penobscot, Maine.2,3

     Carroll's obituary read as follows:
Carroll E. Starbird Dies Very Suddenly - Masonic funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Free Baptist church in Dexter for Carroll E. Starbird, 60. The Rev. Harold Wheeler officiated and the body was placed in the tomb at Mt. Pleasant cemetery to await spring burial. Mr. Starbird died suddenly Friday noon in his truck at his home in North Dexter after having worked in the woods all morning. He was born in Sangerville, May 8, 1888, the son of Abilene and Mary Bailey Starbird. He had been a resident of North Dexter for 19 years. A member of Abner Wade Masonic Lodge No. 207 of Sangerville, he was also a member of North Dexter Grange, the State and National Grange, the Piscataquis Ponoma. He was also a member of Susie Carr Chapter, O. E. S. No. 181, Sangerville. Survivng are his wife, Mrytle Thomas Starbird; five sons, George and Abner of North Dexter, Willard of Sangerville, John and Carroll Eugene of Lake Worth , Fla; one brother, Edwin A. of Sangerville; one sister, Miss Carrie M. Starbird of Washington, D.C., and six grandchildren.3


     Carroll E. Starbird was buried at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, Penobscot, Maine.4

It appears next door to David Thomas. Caroll listed his work as a farmer on a general farm.. Their children, George A., Abner T., Caroll E. and Willard A. were listed as living with them.5

     Carroll and Myrtie appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Dexter, Penobscot, Maine, enumerated 22 April 1930. Carroll was a farmer on a general farm. Their children, George A., Abner T., Caroll E., Willard A. and John S. were listed as living with them.6

     Carroll and Myrtie appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Dexter, Penobscot, Maine, enumerated 29 April 1940. Carroll was listed as a laborer in road construction. Their children, Abner T., Willard A. and John S. were listed as living with them. As an item of interest, a dollar in 1940 would equal $16.26 in the year 2012. A $3.50 gallon of milk in 2012 would have cost $.21 cents in 1940.7

     George, at age 22, married Ella A. Farnham at age 17 on 24 November 1863 at Sangerville, Piscataquis, Maine.1

     George, married Lettie "Surname Unknown" circa 1873.1

     George, at age 52, married Ida V. Pierce at age 26 on 21 June 1893.3

     George J. Ordway died at age 84, on 13 January 1926, at Sangerville, Piscataquis, Maine. He was layed to rest at Jackman Corner Cemetery, Lot 87. George was a veteran in Co. I 22 ME Inf.1

     George J. Ordway was buried at Jackman Corner Cemetery, Sangerville, Piscataquis, Maine.4

     George and Ida appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Sangerville, Piscataquis, Maine, enumerated 29 April 1910. George listed his line of work as a farmer on a general farm. They were all living on the road to Dexter. Their children, Alice E. and James M. were listed as living with them. His children Myrtie W. were listed as living with them.7
