Rebecca, married William Henry Burrill at age 23, son of Bela Burrill and Dolly Lowney, on 2 November 1836 by A. Pingree.1
Rebecca left a Will on 29 October 1884 Rebecca's Will read as follows:
Rebecca S. Atherton died on 31 July 1895 at Belfast, Waldo, Maine, The book (History of Belfast in the State of Maine) reference states,
'Mrs. Rebecca A., widow of the late William Henry Burrill and daughter of the late Charles Atherton of Castine. A lady of rare intellect and great heart, she was active in philanthropic movements and the ennoblement of humanity was her earnest aim and effort. With voice, pen and hand she labored to purify public sentiment and improve social conditions'. Her cause of death was listed as 'paralysis'..5,6 She was buried at Grove Cemetery, Belfast, Waldo, Maine.7

I, Rebecca S. Burrill, of Belfast, in the County of Waldo, and State of Maine, do make and publish this my last will and testament:
First ... I give and bequeath to A. Cutter Sibley of said Belfast the sum of two thousand dollars, in trust, for the following purpose, viz: - In pay to my brother, Charles M. Atherton, of said Belfast, the income of said sum and _____ portions of the principal, at such times, and in such sums as said _____ may deem necessary as judicious, for the comfortable ___ ____ of him the said Charles M., during his the said Charles M's natural life, and at the death of said Charles M., to pay whatever of said principal and income may remain unexpended, to my nephew, John A. Martin.
Second- I appoint said A. Cutter Sibley the executor of and trustee _____ this my last will and testament, without his giving any bond or filing any inventory.
In ____ whereof, I hereunto set my hand the 29th day of October A. D. 1884. (signed) Rebecca S. Burrill.4
