F. S. Lovejoy Of Loomis Is Dead

ROSEVILLE (Placer Co) Jan/ 24. Funeral services for Fred Swlnson Lovejoy, 77, of Loomis, will be held Monday at 2 P. M. in the Broyer Mortuary Burial will be In the Rocklin Cemetery. Lovejoy died Thursday night in his home near Loomis. Lovejoy, who had lived his entire life in Placer and El Dorado Counties, was born in Placer Ccounty. His father, Laurisen Lovejoy, came to California in 1850 by way of Cape Horn. His mother and two children followed later across the Isthmus of Panama. Lovejoy and his wife celebrated their golden wedding in November 1937. For twenty years Lovejoy ran a freight line between Auburn and Georgetown, and also was in the sheep and cattle business. He later moved to Loomis and engaged in farming. Lovejoy leaves his sons and daughters, Chester Lovejoy and Warren Lovejoy of Roseville, Andrew Lovejoy of San Francisco; Mrs. Alta Reese and Mrs. Hazel Hudgens of Sacramento. He also leaves six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.4
