AUGUSTA - M Charlene Lovejoy, 90, died Oct., 19 1999 at Augusta Rehabilitation and Living Center. She was predeceased by her husband, Floyd Lovejoy, Sr., in 1981 and also a brother, George B. Smith and a sister Abbie Smith. She is survived by two sons, Floyd V. Lovejoy and his wife Nita' of Augusta and Elwood K. Lovejoy, Sr., ana his wife Gloria of Gardiner; five grandchildren, David Lovejoy, Dennis Lovejoy, Elwood Lovejoy, Jr., Lisa Cody and Kris Barron; eight great-grandchildren; three great-stepgrandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three nieces; two cousins; and a sister-in-law, Barbara A. Lovejoy. A graveside service will be held 11 am Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Dover Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft, with the Rev. Chet Garrison, pastor of the United Baptist Church of Dover Foxcroft officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Winter St., Augusta, 04330. Arrangements by Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home, One Church St., Augusta.
(From FindAGrave.com) Charlene "Gram" graduated salutatorian from Foxcroft Acadamy and taught private piano lessons. She was a member and former organist at the United Baptist Church of Dover-Foxcroft. In her earlier years, she played piano for the silent movies in Dover. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting and was a life member of Miriam Chapter #40, OES in Dover. She loved baking for her family, especially her famous doughnuts, biscuits and cookies. She spent many, many years at her camp on Sebec Lake in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine.7,3
