     Oscar, at age 20, son of Granville Saunders and Adelia E. Saunders, married Clara May Fenderson at age 20, daughter of George H. Fenderson and Annie Mae Dudley, on 24 December 1924 at Maine.1

     Oscar died at age 88, on 15 August 1992, at Ellsworth, Hancock, Maine,5 and was buried at Cunningham Ridge Cemetery, Surry, Hancock, Maine.5

Their children, Doris E. and Clifton L. and Oscar's mother, Adelia were listed as living with them. As an item of interest, a dollar in 1940 would equal $16.26 in the year 2012. A $3.50 gallon of milk in 2012 would have cost $.21 cents in 1940.7

OSCAR L SAUNDERS

SURRY — Oscar L. Saunders, 88, died Aug. 15, 1992, at an Ellsworth nursing home. He was born May 23, 1904, in Surry, the son of Granville and Adelia Saunders. He is survived by a son, Clifford Saunders of Surry; a daughter, Doris S. Ginn of Surry; six grandchildren, Maureen Kane of Amherst, Patricia Leavitt of Hancock, Belinda Allard of White River Junction, Vt., Deborah Saunders, Edward Saunders, and Alden Saunders all of Surry. A graveside funeral service will be held 10 am, Tuesday at Cunningham Ridge Cemetery, Surry, with the Rev. John Dunn officiating. The family suggests that those who wish may make donations in Oscar's mem-ory to Parkinson's Disease Foundation, William Black Bldg, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, 650 West 168th St., New York, NY 10032-9982.
