Almira Nutt Smith, wife of James E. C. Seavey
     Almira Nutt Smith, daughter of Rev. Hosea Smith and Mary Abigail Damon, was born on 5 May 1819 at Charlotte, Washington, Maine.1,2

     Almira, daughter of Rev. Hosea Smith and Mary Abigail Damon, married James Ephraim Chase Seavey circa 1841.3

     Almira died at age 72, on 13 January 1892,4 and was buried at East Machias Village Cemetery, East Machias, Washington, Maine.4

     She was probably one of the two females age 10 to 15 listed in the household of her father, Rev. Hosea Smith, in the 1830 Federal Census of Charlotte, Washington, Maine.5

     Almira and James appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Charlotte, Washington, Maine, enumerated 26 September 1850. He was a farmer. Their children, Francis Ephraim and Loring G. were listed as living with them.3

     Almira and James appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of East Machias, Washington, Maine, enumerated 4 June 1860. James was a house carpenter, his real estate valued at $1800.00 and personal items $300.00. A Lavina Smith was also with them. Their children, Francis Ephraim, Loring G., Clara E., Esther L., Emma S. and Elmer E. were listed as living with them.6

     Almira and James appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of East Machias, Washington, Maine, enumerated 10 June 1870. He was working as a house joiner. Their children, Clara E., Esther L., Emma S. and Elmer E. were listed as living with them.7

     Almira and James appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of East Machias, Washington, Maine, enumerated 10 June 1880. James was listed as a house joiner. Their children, Emma S., Elmer E. and Clara E. were listed as living with them.8
