     Mary and Hosea appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Charlotte, Washington, Maine, enumerated 26 September 1850. Hosea was working as a farmer and his real estate valued at $900.00. Their children, Caroline Elizabeth, Samuel Lewis, Cyrus Newell, Susan Lewis, Mary Ann and Isabella Clark were listed as living with them.6

     Mary and Hosea appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Charlotte, Washington, Maine, enumerated 29 June 1860. Hosea was working as a farmer, his real estate valued at $1000.00 and personal property at $ 325.00. Their children, Samuel Lewis, Cyrus Newell, Susan Lewis, Mary Ann, Isabella Clark, Almira Johnson, Eunice G., Wheeler Shaw, Olive Ester and Fred were listed as living with them.7

     Mary and Hosea appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Pembroke, Washington, Maine, enumerated 17 June 1870. Hosea was working as a farmer. His real estate valued at $900.00 and personal property $400.00 Their children, Isabella Clark, Eunice G., Wheeler Shaw, Olive Ester and Susan Maria were listed as living with them.8
