WILLIAM O. THOMAS

GUILFORD, Feb. 5 William O. Thomas, 80, much respected citizen who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ina Thomas, Tuesday at 2:45 after an illness of about a month, was born in Pittsfield, his coming here when he was a child. He had lived here since, with the exception of eight years in Sangerville. He married Grace B. Warren of Parkman 48 years ago. She died 14 years ago. He was a successful farmer, helped build the railroad from Guilford to Blanchard and was much interested in the early history or Abbot. Long prominent in Abbot Grange, he was one of the shareholders when its hall was built. He has served on the board of selectmen and always interested in the welfare of the town and in his passing Abbot loses a good citizen. Surviving are his son, Ernest Thomas of Madison, and two daughters; Mrs. Thomas and Mrs. Bessie Prey of Guilford; his sisters, Miss Ida Thomas and Mrs. Gertrude Harrington of Cambridge: seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at the Thomas home Friday at 1 oclock, Rev. H. S. Thomas of Guilford officating. Burial will be in the lamily lot in Elmwood cemetery.4
