Samuel Blanchard1

M, b. 6 August 1629, d. 22 April 1707
     Samuel Blanchard was born on 6 August 1629 at Hampshire, England.2

     Samuel Blanchard emigrated circa 1639.
He came to New England at the age of ten, with his parents in the ship 'Jonathan.' He was a prominent citizen of Charlestown and Malden, and of Andover, Massachusetts, whither he removed June 10, 1686. He was collector of taxes and constable of Andover, and owned large tracts of land.2


     Samuel, at age 25, married Mary Sweetser on 3 January 1654/55.3,4

     Samuel, at age 43, married Hannah Doggett on 24 June 1673.2

     Samuel Blanchard died on 22 April 1707 at Charlestown, Massachusetts, at age 77.2

     Sarah, daughter of Edward Blanchard and Bethia Sweetster, married (?) Paine.1

     Sarah, at age 61, daughter of Edward Blanchard and Bethia Sweetster, married Capt. William Lovejoy Jr. at age 68, son of Lieut. William Lovejoy and Mary Farnum, on 28 November 1749.2

     Sarah Blanchard died on 9 October 1772 at age 84.2

     Mary and Kendall Pollard Knowlton filed a marriage intention on 21 February 1860.1 Mary E. Blethan was also known as Mary E. Knowlton.1

     Mary E. Blethan died on 28 November 1916 at Foxcroft, Piscataquis, Maine, at age 79. Her death was listed as double broncho pneumonia. (This condition can affect one or both the lungs in a person. If both the lungs are affected then it is called double pneumonia. This condition is also called bilateral pneumonia.)4,2 and was buried at Knowlton Mills Cemetery, Sangerville, Piscataquis, Maine.4,5
