     Austin G. Pratt, son of Deacon William Pratt and Martha Gurney, was born on 26 December 1811 at Hebron, Oxford, Maine.2,3

     Austin, at age 22, married Betsey Davee Barrows at age 22, daughter of Jabez Barrows and Sarah Davee, on 14 November 1834.

     Austin died in 1887 at Maine at age 75 years and.4

     Austin G. Pratt was listed as the head of a family along with Betsey Davee Barrows on the 1860 census Foxcroft, Piscataquis, Maine, on 21 June 1860. The official date for this census was 01 June 1860. Living with Austin G. Pratt was Benjamin Franklin Pratt and Ozen Gurney Pratt Austin was listed as a farmer. His real estate was valued at $600.00 and personal property at $468.00.8

     Austin and Betsey appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Foxcroft, Piscataquis, Maine, enumerated 1 June 1870. Austin was working as a farmer. His real estate was valued at $1800.00 and personal property at $965.00.. Their children, Benjamin Franklin and Ozen Gurney were listed as living with them.9
