MARTHA P. EMERY

CANBY, MINN. - Martha P. Emery died Tues., Sept. 17, 1996, at the Senior Haven Nursing Home in Canby, Minn. She was 85. Martha was born on Feb. 11, 1911, the daughter of Daniel and Bertha (Brown) Carter. She married Richard D. Emery in Dedham, Nov. 2, 1940. Martha enjoyed quilting, embroidery, crafts, and writing poetry and articles. She was a member of the Dedham Historical Society and she wrote and had published the History of Dedham. Martha is survived by her daughter. Flora A. Emery-Heise of Canby, Minn; stepdaughters; Myrtle Lawrence of Bangor, Edith Coyne of Brewer, and Mildred Perry of Ypsilanti, Mich. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Martha was predeceased by her husband, Richard; her son, Adalbert Smalley; her daughter, M. Marie Carter; her brother, Wilson Carter; and her sister, Flora. Memorial services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Dedham Congregational Church. Burial will be at Brookside Cemetery in Dedham. Blessed be her memory..7
