     Zelotes Downs was born on 15 June 1814 at Maine.2

     Zelotes, at age 24, married Emeline Almeda Burrill at age 24, daughter of Bela Burrill and Dolly Lowney, on 9 December 1838 at Albion, Kennebec, Maine.1,3

     Zelotes, at age 38, married Catharine Farnham at age 34 on 31 August 1852 at China, Kennebec, Maine, by B. F. Shaw, Minister of the Gospel.4,5 Zelotes Downs was New Tag on 14 September 1854.

     Zelotes Downs died on 9 June 1897 at Richfield, Hennepin, Minnesota, at age 82.6 and was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota.7

     Zelotes and Emeline appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Albion, Kennebec, Maine, enumerated 17 August 1850. He was listed as a farmer. His real estate valued at $1500.00. Their children, Caroline A., Mary D. and George H. were listed as living with them.8

     Zelotes and Catharine appeared on the 1857 Minnesota Census of Minneapolis, Hennipen, Minnesota, enumerated 21 September 1857. Zelotes was working as a lumberman. Their children Caroline A., Mary D. and George H. were listed as living with them.9

     Zelotes and Catharine appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Richfield, Hennipen, Minnesota, enumerated 5 November 1860.. He was listed as a farmer. His real estate valued at $3000.00 and personal property at $800.00. His children, Mary D. and George H. were listed as living with them.10

     Zelotes and Catharine appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Anoka, Anoka, Minnesota, enumerated 28 June 1870. He was listed as a farmer. Zelotes real estate valued at $500.00 and personal property $200.00. His daughter, Mary D. were listed as living with them.11
