General Alvan Bolster, husband of Cynthia Wheeler
     Gen. Alvan Bolster, son of Isaac Bolster and Hannah Cushman, was born on 7 December 1795.
He was the son of Isaac Bolster, Jr. and Hannah Cushman. He arrived in Rumford, Maine as a young man and married Cynthia Wheeler. He engaged in trade, was a farmer, and inn keeper. He held the position of Postmaster in East Rumford for thirty years. Military affairs were of great interest to him, and he joined the militia serving in the Light Infantry. He was commissioned as Ensign May 8, 1821, Lt. Colonel November 27, 1830. Later he was promoted to command a division and commissioned Major General by the Governor of State of Maine. He was a leader in the Sons of Temperance movement and an active Free Mason. He held numerous public offices, serving as Representative in the State Legislature and twice was elected State Senator.1


     Alvan, married Cynthia Wheeler.1

     Roswell Barrows Pratt, son of Barnabus Pratt and Polly (Mary) Parsons, was born on 1 November 1820.1

     Roswell, at age 23, married Cynthia Pratt on 12 May 1844.1,2

     Roswell, at age 29, married Eliza Pamelia Bartlett, daughter of Alva Bartlett and Lucy Lothrop, on 8 July 1850.1,3

     Roswell Barrows Pratt was selected to do military duty in the Fourth Congressional District Civil War military service on 6 August 1863 at Foxcroft, Piscataquis, Maine.4

     Roswell Barrows Pratt died at age 60, on 23 May 1881.1
