     Myrtle, at age 18, daughter of Richard D. Emery and Alta M. Black, married Hadley Proctor Burrill at age 22, son of Harold Simeon Burrill and Bertha Mae Dorr, on 15 February 1941 at Maine.¹

     Myrtle, at age 24, daughter of Richard D. Emery and Alta M. Black, married Cleon A. Lawrence on 26 October 1946 at Maine.³

The entries were made pretty much alphabetically by groom. That is, all of the grooms whose last name began with 'A' were grouped together on a page although were not alphabetized within that letter. Entries were NOT alphabetized by bride. We have tried to transcribe the information as found. Page numbers were not used in this book. Check various spellings as names were often spelled differently, depending on who was recording the information. If a line is blank it is because that INFORMATION WAS NOT RECORDED IN THE ORIGINAL RECORD. Perhaps the actual marriage was performed in another town and therefore recorded elsewhere. An X was made next to the original marriage record if the transcript was returned to the clerk of court. Names or dates with question marks (?) denote that it was hard to decipher but we made our best attempt.

     Paul, married Adelia Rollins, daughter of George Rollins and Phebe Brown, on 6 August 1865 at Sebec, Piscataquis, Maine, Unknown GEDCOM info: 06 AUG 1865.¹

     Richard D. Emery, son of John V. Emery and Blanche E. Dugan, was born circa 1898 at Maine.^1,2

     Richard, son of John V. Emery and Blanche E. Dugan, married Alta M. Black at age 22, daughter of Herbert Leslie Black and Bertha Marcella Pond, on 24 December 1920 at St. Stephens, New Brunswick, Canada, they were married by Rev. L. H. Holmes, Clergyman, St. Stephen, New Brunswick.¹

     Richard, son of John V. Emery and Blanche E. Dugan, married Martha P. Carter on 2 November 1940.^3,4

     Richard D. Emery died on 27 June 1983 at Dedham, Hancock, Maine,⁵ and was buried at Brookside Cemetery, Dedham, Hancock, Maine.⁶

     Alvin Leon Engstrom, son of John P. Engstrom and Angelia Wood, was born on 27 September 1896 at Islesboro, Waldo, Maine.³

     Due to a need for men to serve during World War I, the United States instituted a draft. The first registration was for men between the ages of 21 and 31. As a result, this first registration included men born between June 5, 1886 and June 5, 1896. As World War I continued to escalate, the United States instituted a second draft registration. The second registration was for men who had turned 21 since June 5, 1917, so it added men born between June 5, 1896 and June 5, 1897. Two months later, a supplemental registration was held on August 24, 1918 for men who had become 21 years of age since June 5, 1918, adding the names of men who were born between June 5, 1897 and August 24, 1897. With no end in sight for World War I, the United States instituted it's third and final registration. It included all men who were between the ages of 18 and 21, and 31 to 45 years of age. This added younger men than the previous registrations, those who were born between September 12, 1897 and September 12, 1900; and added an older group of men, born between September 12, 1873 and September 12, 1888. Alvin filled out a draft card for World War I on 5 June 1918 (at age 21), while living at Dexter, Penobscot, Maine. Unknown GEDCOM info: 05 JUN 1918 He was employed as laborer for Harry Chapman, in Bangor, Maine. He was claiming an exemption from the draft because of dependent father and mother and described as height, short and medium build with brown eyes and black hair..⁴

     Alvin, at age 23, son of John P. Engstrom and Angelia Wood, married Hattie Vena Jipson on 10 December 1919 at Dexter, Penobscot, Maine.⁵

     Alvin Leon Engstrom died on 24 August 1961 at Dover Foxcroft, Piscataquis, Maine, at age 64.^6,7 and was buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Milo, Piscataquis, Maine.^8,9

     Alvin P. Engstrom, son of Alvin Leon Engstrom and Hattie Vena Jipson, was born on 28 December 1919 at Searsport, Waldo, Maine.^2,3,4

     Alvin died at age 2, on 22 May 1922, at Belfast, Waldo, Maine, His cause of death was listed as "double lobar pneumonia"^3,4 and was buried at Bowditch Cemetery, Searsport, Waldo, Maine.³
