Miss Ruth Blood and Reginald McGown of Bangor Married

EAST HOLDEN Sept 9— Miss Ruth E. Blood and Reginald McGown were married Tuesday evening at the home of the bride. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Royal Brown of Bangor ln the presence of many relatives and friends. The single ring service was impressively used. The young couple were attended by Miss Ella Gray as bridesmaid and Lauris McGown the groom’s brother, as best man. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, W. Raymond Blood. The bride was gowned in white silk organdy and wore a veil and carried a bride's bouquet of pink roses and white sweet peas. The bridesmaid was gowned in blue and pink organdy and carried a bouquet of gladoli. The bride is the youngest daughter of G. Walter Blood and Mrs. Calla Blood and graduated from Higgins Classical Institute in 1929. The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. McGown of Bangor, is a graduate of Bangor high school and the I. C. S. as civil engineer and at present employed in Bangor in that capacity. Following the ceremony an informal reception was held for the couple. Miss Mildred Sweet and Mrs. Helen Whiting had cfiarge of the gifts and Mrs. Albert Maddocks had charge of the guest book. The couple were recipients of many gifts including silver and linen.2


     Ruth died on 10 September 1942 at Bangor, Penobscot, Maine, at age 30.3 and was buried at Hart's Corner Cemetery, Holden, Penobscot, Maine.3
