IONA S SMITH

DENNYSVILLE - Iona S Smith, 92, died Nov. 11, 1994 at a Machias hospital. She was born at Dennysville, Aug. 28, 1902, the daughter of Loring L. and Daisy V. (Carter) Sinclair. She was a graduate of Dennysville High School and the University of Maine, at Machias and taught school in several school systems in Washington County until her retirement in 1969. She is survived by her husband, Leonard M. Smith of Dennysville; one son, John Dudley of Portland; a grandson, Brian Dudley; a great-grandson, Connor, and a great-granddaughter, Meaghan. A graveside service will be held 2 pm, Sunday, at Dennysville Cemetery, with the Rev Ronald Windhorst officiating. Arrangements by Gardner-Hall Funeral Home, Machias.3

     Hattie, at age 31, married Walter E. Kingsbury on 8 April 1899 at Sheridan, Montcalm, Michigan.3

     Hattie Slater and Walter E. Kingsbury were divorced on 24 April 1901 Cruelity to Hattie cited as cause.3

     Hattie, at age 33, married Robert Hall Blaisdell at age 51, son of Daniel Dudley Blaisdell and Eunice Wasson Condon, on 25 July 1901 at Big Rapids, Michigan.1

     Hattie died on 4 May 1904, at Sheridan, Montcalm, Michigan, at age 36. Her cause of death was abcess of stomach.4 She was buried at Sheridan Cemetery, Sheridan, Montcalm, Michigan.4
