MAXINE E WILBUR RN

HANCOCK - Maxine E. Wilbur, RN, 73, died at a Bar Harbor health-care facility Dec. 30, 1998. She was born at Kenduskeag, Jan. 14, 1925, the daughter of William ond Gladys (Osborne) Burrill. During World War II she trained as a cadet nurse at Eastern Maine General Hospital graduating in 1947 and becoming a registered nurse. After graduation she married her husband Gerald Wilbur. She was a member of the United Baptist Church of Ellsworth where she served in the choir. During her career she worked at many area hospitals. She enjoyed cruising with her husband. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Gerald of Hancock; two sons, Thomas and his wife Ellen of Levant, Charles and his wife Beth of Franklin; one daughter Diane and her fiancee David Pluard of Hancock; a daughter-in-law Debra of Eastbrook; four grandchildren, Jonathan, Rebecca, Lee Anne and Joshua; three brothers, William Burrill ond his wife Marjorie of Connecticut; Clarence 'Dick' Burrill and his wife Betty of North Carolina, and Robert Burrill of Florida; two sisters Beverly Robertson of Connecticut and Ruby and her husband Carl Ryder of Costigon; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Donald in 1980 and one sister Annabeile Ouimby. Friends are invited to visit with the family 6-8 pm Friday Jan. 1, 1999 at Brogdon-Kelley-Compbell Funeral Home, Ellsworth. Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999. at the United Baptist Church Ellsworth. Interment will be at Sunnyside Cemetery Eastbrook. Memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Youth Camp care of Robert Maddocks, 1 Grand View Road, Ellsworth, 04605.
