Mary Ames, wife of Zachariah Gurney
     Mary Ames, daughter of David Ames and Mary Reynolds, was born on 9 April 1723 at Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts.2

     Mary, at age 30, daughter of David Ames and Mary Reynolds, married Lieut. Zechariah Gurney at age 24, son of Zachariah Gurney and Sarah Jackson, on 9 January 1754 at Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts.3,4

     Mary died on 6 February 1800 at North Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts, at age 76.3,5 and was buried at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton, Plymouth, Massachusetts.6

Molley Ames, wife of David Gurney
     Molley Ames, daughter of Jonathan Ames and Keziah Tinkham, was born on 5 February 1765 at Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts.3 Molley Ames was also known as Molley Gurney.4,5

     Molley and David Gurney filed a marriage intention on 15 August 1789 at Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts.4,6

     Molley died on 2 July 1791 at Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts, at age 26.4,7 and was buried at Old Graveyard, West Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts. Plot: Section E marker #270. Her headstone inscription was as follows:
In memory of Mrs. Molly, wife of Mr. David Gurney, who died July ye 2d, 1795, in ye 27th year of her age.
Great God, I own thy sentenee just, And nature must decay; I yield my body to the dust, To dwell with fellow clay. Yet faith can triumph o'er the grave, And trample on the tomb; My Jesus, my Redeemer lives, My God my Savior comes.8

     Sarah Ames, daughter of John Ames Jr. and Sarah Washburn, was born on 23 January 1702 at Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts.1,2

     Sarah, at age 20, daughter of John Ames Jr. and Sarah Washburn, married Capt. Abiel Packard at age 23 on 11 January 1722/23 at Bridgewater, Plymouth, Massachusetts.3

     Sarah died on 20 July 1770 at age 68.1 and was buried at Ashland Cemetery, Brockton, Plymouth, Massachusetts.1

Helen Elina Anderson1

     Helen Elina Anderson was born on 5 December 1913 at Bangor, Penobscot, Maine.1

     Helen, at age 23, married Amos Leroy Hadley at age 23, son of Alton Leon Hadley and Myrtle Frost Cowing, on 5 June 1937 at Maine.1

     Helen died at age 94, on 6 December 2007, at Pittsfield, Maine,1 and was buried at Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor, Penobscot, Maine.2

Obituary

Pittsfield and Old Town: Helen Elina (Anderson) Hadley went home to her Lord a day after her 94th birthday, Thursday evening December 6, 2007 at Sebasticook Valley Nursing Care Facility in Pittsfield with her only child and youngest grandchild at her bedside. Helen was born in Bangor December 5, 1913 the daughter of Peter C. and Annie (Anderson) Anderson as a first generation Swede born in America. Helen graduated from Bangor High School in the class of 1931. She married Amos Leroy Hadley of Eddington Bend on June 5, 1937 and devoted her life to him and their home. Their only child was born in 1943 against doctor's orders and at great sacrifice to her own health. Helen was baptized as Grace Methodist Church in Bangor and regularly attended Old Town United Methodist Church until she was unable due to health.
Helen is survived by her devoted daughter Linda Jenkins of Etna, grandchildren, Vicki Doane and her partner Scott Buckland of Goffstown, NH, Kristi Cournoyer of Manchester, NH, Andrew Cota and his wife Lynne of Conway, NH, Nikki Doucet and her husband Joe of Etna, her only great grandchild Heather Katherine Cournoyer of Manchester, NH. Helen is also survived by brothers-in-law Alton Hadley of Gorham, ME and Harold Hadley of Walnut Grove, CA, sisters-in-law Freda Hadley Vanidestine of Bangor, Mary Hadley of Brewer Lake, and a favorite cousin, Gloria Tipton of Sumter, SC. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, and a cousin Jeanette Stevens and her husband Bill of Gardner, ME.
Helen was predeceased by her parents her husband Amos on October 11, 1998, a sister Olga Anderson a brother Francis Anderson and a stillborn infant. It was Helen's wish to be cremated and be interred with her husband at her Anderson family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor in the spring. (Brown Funeral Home on-line)3
