     Clyde Ashley Lovejoy, son of Levi Henry Lovejoy and Martha (Mattie) Estelle Braley, was born on 31 May 1913 at Bradford, Penobscot, Maine.1

     Clyde, at age 20, son of Levi Henry Lovejoy and Martha (Mattie) Estelle Braley, married Louise Ann Bryson at age 18 on 3 September 1933 at Maine.2

     Clyde died at age 91, on 26 July 2004, at Pittsfield, Somerset, Maine,3,4 and was buried at Clarks Hill Cemetery, Stetson, Penobscot, Maine.4

     Clyde, with their parents, Levi and Martha appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Bradford, Penobscot, Maine in the household of his Grandparents, William and Amanda.5

     Clyde appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Bradford, Penobscot, Maine in the household of his mother Martha and her new husband, Frank E. Perry.6

     Clyde and Louise appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Charleston, Penobscot, Maine, at Charleston Garland Road, enumerated 1 April 1940. As an item of interest, a dollar in 1940 would equal $16.26 in the year 2012. A $3.50 gallon of milk in 2012 would have cost $.21 cents in 1940.7

CLYDE ASHLEY LOVEJOY

STETSON—Clyde Ashley Lovejoy, 91, passed on to his eternal life in heaven with his family by his side at Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield on July 26, 2004. He was born May 31, 1913, in Bradford, the son of Levi and Mattie (Braley) Lovejoy. He attended schools in Bradford. On September 3, 1933, he married his wife of 64 years Louise A. (Bryson) Lovejoy, who predeceased him September 24,1997. Ashley owned and operated a dairy farm in Stetson with his son, Fredrick, until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the Stetson Grange. He is survived by his very special and devoted daughter-in-law, Sandra Lovejoy of Stetson; 2 granddaughters, Tammy Lynn Lovejoy and her fiancée, Tom Martin of Stetson and Kim Marie Lovejoy Scott and her husband Don, and a great granddaughter, Megan Ashley Scott, all of Virginia Beach, VA; a sister, Estelle Berman of Lawrenceville, NJ; many special nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his son Fredrick Ashley Lovejoy; a sister, Avaline Bickmore, and a brother, Wendall Lovejoy. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, July 28th at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 29th at the Stetson Union Church with the Rev. David Ray, Sr. officiating. Burial will be in the Clark’s Hill Cemetery, Stetson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stetson Ladies Aid, c/o Theresa Gray, PO Box 104, Stetson, ME 04488; or to the Stetson Fire & Rescue, c/o Kim Tracy, PO Box 22, Stetson, ME 04488.8
