He died from Interstitial nephritis (a kidney disorder in which the spaces between the kidney tubules become swollen (inflamed).      Mary P. Dresser, daughter of Aaron Balch Dresser and Hannah Lawrence, was born on 21 January 1862 at Bucksport, Hancock, Maine.2

     Mary, at age 32, married Alvin P. Maddocks at age 28, son of Ezakiel W. Maddocks and Elizabeth Saunders, on 17 October 1894.3

     On 6 October 1920, the Bangor Daily News, in a section labeled, "DEDHAM", stated (Mary):"Mrs. Mary Maddocks is quiet ill and is attended by Dr. Snow of Bucksport." She must have been feeling very ill. After reading her Record of Death, she had cancer of the uterus." It begins in the lining of the uterus (endometrium) and is more precisely termed endometrial cancer (carcinoma)."4

     Mary P. Dresser died at age 58, on 10 November 1920, at Bucksport, Hancock, Maine. Her attending doctor, Horace E, Snow, M. D. The cause of death was listed as carcinoma of the uterus.2 She was buried in Hillside Cemetery on 13 November 1920 at Bucksport, Hancock, Maine.5
