     Edward R. Billington, son of Daniel Stephen Billington and Lavina Hinckley Eddy, was born on 19 August 1837 at Eddington, Penobscot, Maine.1,2,3

     Edward, at age 26, son of Daniel Stephen Billington and Lavina Hinckley Eddy, married Sophia Lucretia Burrill at age 25, daughter of William Gordon Burrill and Elsie Buck Blood, on 12 November 1863 at Dedham, Hancock, Maine, by Rev. P. B. Thayer.4,5

     Edward, at age 54, son of Daniel Stephen Billington and Lavina Hinckley Eddy, married Bertha M. Chase at age 20, daughter of Sewell Chase and Louisa Furbush, on 16 May 1892 at Brooks, Penobscot, Maine, by Humphry Sewall, Clergy.6

     Edward R. Billington died on 23 October 1912 at Dixmont, Penobscot, Maine, at age 75. His death was caused by chronic pneumonia, nephritis with cardiac complications.7

However, during this census, he was out of work with a broken leg Their children, Nellie H., Calvin R. and William H. were listed as living with them.11

     Edward and Bertha appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Dixmont, Penobscot, Maine, enumerated 6 June 1900 Edward was working as a carpenter. The census indicated Bertha had five children. Their children, Maude E., Grace Edna, Myra A., Percy and Bernard Elmer were listed as living with them.12

     Edward appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Plymouth, Somerset, Maine, enumerated 2 May 1910. Edward, now a widow, was listed with some of his children His children Grace Edna, Myra A., Percy, Bernard Elmer and Harry L. were listed as living with them.13
