Thomas Daggett1

Thomas Daggett
     Thomas Daggett, son of Elisha Daggett and Augusta Bolster, was born on 25 December 1844 at Foxcroft, Piscataquis, Maine.2,1,3

     Thomas Daggett began Civil War military service on 1 August 1862. Thomas was serving in Company "B", 20th Maine Infantry and was discharged 01 Jul 1863.4

     Thomas, married Hannah Chapin circa 1865.5

     Thomas Daggett died at age 72, on 5 August 1917, at Foxcroft, Piscataquis, Maine. His cause of death was listed as "General Sepsis. Contributing, was after an operation for stone in his bladder. (A lay term for sepsis is blood poisoning, also used to describe septicaemia. Severe sepsis is the systemic inflammatory response, plus infection, plus the presence of organ dysfunction.)2

     Thomas Daggett was buried at Lee Cemetery, Foxcroft, Piscataquis, Maine.6

     Thomas and Hannah appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Foxcroft, Piscataquis, Maine, enumerated 23 June 1880. Thomas was listed as a farmer.. Their children, Herbert C., Elizabeth M., Sumner L. and Grace N., along with Thomas' mother, Augusta, were listed as living with them.10

     Thomas Daggett was listed in the 1890 Veteran Census in June 1890 at Foxcroft, Piscataquis, Maine.4

     Thomas and Hannah appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Foxcroft, Piscataquis, Maine, enumerated 7 June 1900. Thomas was listed as a farmer.. Their child, Grace N., his sister, Matilda and his mother, Augusta were listed as living with them.11

     Thomas and Hannah appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Foxcroft, Piscataquis, Maine, enumerated 10 May 1910. Thomas was listed as a farmer.. Their daughter, Elizabeth M., was listed as living with them. Their grand children, Elizabeth Margaret, Wilmer and Dorothy, and Aura C. were living with them.12
