     Garret Pieterse Wyckoff, son of Pieter Claesen Wyckoff and Grietje Cornelise Van Ness, was born in 1662 at Flatlands, Kings, New York.2,3,4

     Garret married Catherine Johanna Nevius, daughter of Johannes Nevius and Adriaentje Bleijck, in 1691, at New York.4

     Garret Pieterse Wyckoff left a will on 9 October 1704; This is an Abstract of his Will;

In the name of God, Amen, this 9 October 1704. Be it known that I, Garett Wyckoff, of Flatlands in Kings County, on the Island of Nassau, being at present very sick and weak. I leave to my loving wife Katharine, all estate of houses and lands, during her life, and 12 acres of land within the limits of Gravesend. But if she remarry, then an inventory is to be made, and my eldest son Peter shall have half of the houses and lands when he is of age, and the other half after my wife's decease, and he is to pay to the other children, namely, Greetie, Adriane, Amke, Marytie and Janica, £ 450, I give to my son Peter, a silver tankard, and my plows and harrows and all the tackling belonging to a farm. The testator makes provision for an expected child. I make my loving friends and brothers, Claas Wyckoff, Hendrick Wyckoff, Peter Wyckoff, Garett Stoothoff, and Peter Nevins, my executors. And they are to sell a 12 acre lot of land, lying at Ambrose Island, so in the town of Gravesend. Witnesses, Jan Terhunen, James Amerman, Henry Filkin. Proved at Flatlands, July 12 1707, and confirmed by Lord Cornbury.2,5,6


     Garret died in June 1707, at Kings, New York.7,8

     Gerrit P. Wyckoff, son of Peter (Garret) Wyckoff and Rymerick (Rymie) Denyse, was born on 21 October 1776 at Flatlands, Kings, New York.3,4

     Gerrit married Sarah Van Der Veer circa 1810.5,2

     Gerrit died on 2 June 1870, at age 93,2,6 and was buried at Flatlands Dutch Reformed Church Cemetery, Brooklyn, Kings, New York.7

     Gerrit and Sarah appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Flatlands, Kings, New York, enumerated 5 October 1850. Gerrit was a farmer and his real estate was valued at $15000.00.. Their children, Maria, Gerrit and Isaac were listed as living with them.8

WYCKOFF

At Flatlands, on Thursday, June 2nd, Gerrit P. Wyckoff, in the 95th year of his age. The relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend his funeral, on Saturday afternoon, June 4th, at 2 ½ o'clock P. M., from the Reformed Church, Flatlands. Cars leave Flatbush depot at 2 P. M.9
