Hendrick Van Voorhees, son of Johannes Coert Van Voorhees and Barbara Van Dyke, was born on 20 March 1719.^1,2

     Hendrick died on 4 November 1745, at age 26; unmarried.^1,2

     Henry Van Voorhees, son of Coert Van Voorhees and Catherine Filkin, was born on 21 April 1735.²

     Henry married Hannah Flageler on 9 January 1766.²

     Henry died on 18 September 1801, at age 66.²

     Jacob married Trocy Myer on 13 February 1758.^1,3

     Jacob married Sarah Van Dam, daughter of Rip Van Dam Jr. and Judith Byard, on 1 August 1769.⁴

     Jacob left a Will on 1 September 1775. His Will, proved Apr. 5, 1784, recorded in the Surrogate's Office of the City and County of New York, in Liber 36, p. 369, is as follows:

' In the name of God, Amen, I, Jacob Van Voorhis, of the City of New York, merchant, being at present in good health and of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, thanks be to God for the same, but considering the uncertainity of this life and the certainity of death, do make my last Will and Testament, as follows : First, my will is that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid as soon as conveniantly may be after my decease. Secondly, I give to my two sons Jacob and John, all my wearing apparel. Thirdly, I give to my two daughters Gertrude and Jane, all the wearing apparel that belonged to their mother. Fourthly, I give, devise and bequeath one-sixth part of all the rest residue and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, unto my wife Sarah, her heirs and assigns forever, in bar and satisfaction of her right of dower ; one other one-sixth part thereof I give, devise and bequeath unto my said son Jacob, and to his heirs and assigns forever ; one other one-sixth part thereof I give, devise and bequeath unto my said son John, and to his heirs and assigns forever ; one other one-sixth part thereof I give, devise and bequeath unto my said daughter Gertrude, and to her heirs and assigns forever ; one other one-sixth part thereof I give, devise and bequeath unto my said daughter Jane, and to her heirs and assigns forever ; and the remaining one-sixth part thereof unto my said wife's daughter, Cornelia White, and to her heirs and assigns forever ; and if any or either of my said children should die under age or unmarried, the part and share of such child or children so dying shall go to, and be equally divided among, the survivors of my said children, their heirs and assigns forever. And my will is that my said wife Sarah shall have and receive the rents, profits and interest of my said estate until my youngest surviving child arrives to the age of twenty one years, if my said wife shall so long live and continue my widow, for the support and maintenance of herself and her said daughter and my said four children, and that a division of my estate be made when my youngest surviving child arrives to the age of twenty one years, or upon the death or marriage of my said wife, whichever shall first happen ; and in order that an equal division may be made I empower and authorize my Executors and the survivors and survivor of them to sell all my Real Estate at such times and in such manner as they may think proper. And lastly, I nominate and appoint my said wife Sarah and my two sons, Jacob and John, Executors of this my last Will and Testament, and I hereby revoke all former Wills by me made and declare this to be my last Will and Testament.
