     Mary Alretta Smith was born on 5 October 1888 at Iowa.1

     Mary married Gustaf Edwin Boquist, son of Nils Gustaf Boquist and Johanna Potentia Carlson, on 30 May 1917, at Marion, Oregon.2

     Mary died on 17 February 1956, at Tillamook, Oregon, at age 67,3,4 and was buried at IOOF Cemetery & Mausoleum, Tillamook, Tillamook, Oregon.5

     Mary and Gustaf appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Tillamook, Tillamook, Oregon, enumerated 13 January 1920. It appears Gustaf was working on his father's dairy farm. Their daughter, Betty Eleanor was listed as living with them.6

     Mary and Gustaf appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Maple Leaf, Tillamook, Oregon, enumerated 10 April 1930. Edwin owned his home valued at $22,500.00. There was a radio set in the home. He was a dairy farmer. Their children, Betty Eleanor and Harold Gustof were listed as living with them.7

     Mary and Gustaf appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Maple Leaf, Tillamook, Oregon, enumerated 19 April 1940. Gustaf was working on his farm. Their children, Betty Eleanor and Harold Gustof were listed as living with them. As an item of interest, a dollar in 1940 would equal $21.35 in the year 2022. A $3.50 gallon of milk in 2022 would have cost $.17 cents in 1940.8
