Kathy Edgerly Marries In Methodist Ceremony

DOVER-FOXCROFT Miss Kathy Marie Edgerly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Edgerly was married to Russell H. Thomas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Thomas of Guilford, July 25 at the Methodist Church. The Rev. Gordon Hemphill officiated, Organist was Philip Clark. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown trimmed with delicate lace with A-line skirt and lace yoke. Her veil was trimmed with lace petals and crystals and she carried white daisies and red roses. Matron of honor was Judith Edgerly of Dover-Foxcroft. Bridesmaids were Vicki Lynne Edgerly of Dover-Foxcroft and Rose Marie Thomas of Guilford. They wore turquoise gowns and each carried a single red rose. They wore miniature red roses in their hair. Best man was Charles Edgerly of Dover-Foxcroft. Ushers were Peter Applebee and David Smiley, both of Guilford. A reception was held at the Guilford Center Grange. Assisting were Mrs. Carol Thomas, Miss Susan Hesketh, Miss Gale Pratt, Mrs. Merna Dunham, Mrs. Cathy Baird, Miss Elinor Robinson, Mrs. Beth Hesketh and Mrs. Thelma Pratt. The couple left on a trip to New Hampshire, Vermont, New York and Canada. After Aug. 8, they will reside on Hudson Avenue, Guilford. The bride graduated from Foxcroft Academy. She is employed at Pride Gold Tee Manufacturing. Mr. Thomas, a graduate of Piscataquis Community High School, is the lumber and trucking business with his father.2


     Russell died at age 57, on 2 November 2005, at Guilford, Piscataquis, Maine,3 and was buried at Lawn Cemetery, Guilford, Piscataquis, Maine.4

RUSSELL H THOMAS

DOVER-FOXCROFT - Russell Harvey Thomas, 57, husband of Kathy (Edgerly) Thomas, passed away Nov. 2, 2005, at his home surrounded by his family after a long and courageous battle with Agent Orange related lung cancer. Russell was born Aug. 19, 1948, in Guilford, the son of Clyde and Carolyn (Pray) Thomas. He was a graduate of Guilford High School, Class of 1967, and served with the US Army during the Vietnam War. Russell was a loving husband, devoted father, and grandfather and a good friend to many. He was predeceased by his mother, Carolyn, in 1983 and his father-in-law, Elwood Edgerly, in 1996. Russell is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Kathy; a son Jamie Thomas and girlfriend, Karen Snow, of Dover-Foxcroft; two daughters Shannon (Thomas) Goodwin, and her husband Charles, of Brewer, and Amanda Thomas who attends UMF. He is also survived by his father, Clyde Thomas, and his companion, Sally Cowette, of Guilford; mother-in-law, Phyllis Edgerly, a resident of Hibbard Nursing Home; three brothers, Gerald Thomas and his wife Carol, Richard Thomas and his wife Roberta, all of Guilford and Kenneth Thomas and his wife Wanda of Farmington; a sister, Rose Folsom and her husband Stan of Guilford; two sisters-in-law Vicki Palmer and her husband Edward of Dover-Foxcroft, Linda Clemens of Poulan, Ga; three granddaughters, Lauren Snow Haley and Taylor Thomas all of Dover-Foxcroft; several nieces and nephews along with special friends Fran and Sue Moore, Jane and Steve Pratt, Mike and Beverly Perkins; his "office gang" at the Bear's Den and his loyal dog, Brutus, and two cats, Henry and Milk-face. Friends are invited to call 6-8 pm Friday, Nov. 4, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. A graveside service will be conducted 1:30 pm Saturday Nov. 5, at the family lot in Lawn Cemetery, Guilford, with Pastor Phil Barton, long time family friend and neighbor officiating. All are invited to gather at Clyde's home in Guilford following the service for a time of fellowship and sharing.
