     Benjamin Lufkin Blackwood, son of Josiah Flagg Blackwood and Hannah Smith, was born on 15 June 1841 at Pembroke, Washington, Maine, got his education in the common schools of that town.¹

     Benjamin Lufkin Blackwood was left an orphan at an early age, and went to Eastport and entered the employ of his uncle, Andrew Jackson, who was the proprietor of a fish market. After a short service there he apprenticed himself to a blacksmith, whose trade he learned and followed as a vocation until 1861. circa 1854.¹

     Benjamin Lufkin Blackwood was in Civil War military Service in 1861. He sprnt two years in the war of the rebellion as a Private in Company B, Tenth Maine volenteers.¹

     Benjamin was subsequently persued his calling as a smith one year in Boston. From that place he removed to Nashua, New Hampshire, where he became a manufacturer of furniture. In 1869 he gave up business and became the general manager of the state prison workshop at Concord, which place he filled for 25 years. circa 1863.¹

     Benjamin, at age 24, son of Josiah Flagg Blackwood and Hannah Smith, married Ellen J. Pettengill at age 27, daughter of Benjamin Pettengill and Frances Currier, on 5 April 1866.¹

     Benjamin was engaged in the manufacture of plumbers' woodwork supplies at Concord under the name of the Penacook Manufacturing Company, which after some reverses of fortune continued the business under the style of the Plumbers' Woodworking Company. Some years later other changes occured, and the style of the concern was changed to the Concord Woodworking Company... in 1897.¹

     Benjamin died at age 88, on 19 March 1930, at Concord, New Hampshine. His cause of death was listed as apoplexy with secondary cause arteriosclerosis..^2,3 He was buried at Blossom Hill Cemetery, Concord, Merrimack, New Hampshire.⁴

     Casper W. Blackwood, son of Andrew Jackson Blackwood and Julia A. Bluemortier, was born circa 1858 at Maine.¹

     Casper died in 1862² and was buried at Lubec Cemetery, Lubec, Washington, Maine.²

     Cora Blackwood, daughter of Benjamin Lufkin Blackwood and Ellen J. Pettengill, was born in 1870.¹

     Cora died in 1873,¹ and was buried at Blossom Hill Cemetery, Concord, Merrimack, New Hampshire.²

     Corrilla Blackwood, daughter of Josiah Flagg Blackwood and Hannah Smith, was born circa 1842 at Maine.²

     Corrilla Nickerson Blackwood, daughter of James Blackwood Jr. and Susanna Cushing, was born on 9 December 1823 at Pembroke, Washington, Maine.^1,2,3

     Corrilla, of Harrington and Capt. Ira F. Mitchell, of Pembroke filed a marriage intention on 9 February 1850, at Pembroke, Washington, Maine.⁴

     Corrilla, at age 26, daughter of James Blackwood Jr. and Susanna Cushing, married Capt. Ira F. Mitchell, son of Jeremiah Mitchell and Ruth Cushing, on 26 February 1850.^5,6

     Corrilla died on 6 May 1893 at Pembroke, Washington, Maine, at age 69. Corrilla's cause of death was pneumonia.⁷ She was buried at Clarkside Cemetery, Pembroke, Washington, Maine.⁸
