     Mary, at age 22, married Collins Lovejoy Jr. at age 24, son of Capt. Collins Lovejoy and Sally Pettingell, on 31 May 1836 at Chesterville, Maine.2

     Mary died on 14 November 1885 at Chesterville, Franklin, Maine, at age 71.3 and was buried at Webster Cemetery Cemetery, North Chesterville, Franklin, Maine.4

Bettina Conley Of Atkinson Becomes Bride

DOVER - FOXCROFT - Miss Bettina Lynne Conley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elwood H. Conley, of Atkinson, became the bride of Roger Alien Knowlton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Knowlton, Saturday at 2 pm in the United Baptist Church. The Rev. Lorrimer Morrison performed the double ring ceremony before an altar decorated with seasonal flowers and sprays of evergreens. Miss Corinne Johnson, church organist, played traditional wedding marches. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white satin floor length gown with fingertip veil, attached to a crown of shattered carnations. She carried a white Bible with gardenia. Her matron of honor was her sister, Mrs. Patricia Nickerson of Presque Isle, who wore a street length dress of pink chiffon with shoulder-length veil attached to a gold coronet. Bridesmaids were the Misses Nancy Carter, Priscilla Bradbury, and Gail Clark wearing dresses of yellow, pink and green, respectively. They carried bouquets of shattered carnations and babies-breath like the matron of honor’s. Darcey Nickerson of Presque Isle, dressed in a pink floral patterned dress was the flower girl. Shawn Carsley of Newport was the ring bearer. Maurice Marden was best man. Ushers were Dale Carsley of Newport, George McCourt of Dexter and Fernald Clark Jr. A reception was held in t the church vestry. The guest book was circulated by Miss Linda Knowiton, sister of the bridegroom. Punch was dipped by Mrs. Carolyn Doore and Mrs. Dale Carsley, sisters of the bridegroom At the gift table were the Misses Josephine and Lynette Barnes. The bride, who attended Foxcroft Academy, chose for traveling, a white linen dress and white accessories. Her corsage was of white gardenia. The bridegroom Is a graduate of Foxcroft Academy and will continue his studies at the University of Maine this fall. They will reside in Dover-Foxcroft.1


     Bettina died on 23 November 2024, at Pinnacle Health and Rehab, North Berwick, Maine,2 and was buried on 27 November 2024 at North Atkinson Cemetery, Atkinson, Maine.2

Bettina Lynne (Conley) Knowlton

North Berwick - Bettina Lynne (Conley) Knowlton, 79, died November 23, 2024, at Pinnacle Health and Rehab in North Berwick, ME. She was born February 6, 1945, in Presque Isle, ME, the third child of Elwood H. and Frances (White) Conley. In 1959, Tina moved to Atkinson, ME, with her family. She then attended Foxcroft Academy, in Dover-Foxcroft, ME. Over the years Tina lived with her former husband, Roger Knowlton, and her sons in many different places including Orono, ME, Springfield, MA, Liverpool, NY, and then settling in Winthrop, ME. For many of those years Tina worked in the insurance industry, working for Allstate Insurance and other agencies. In 1998, Tina moved to Florida, settling in North Port. After she retired in 2007, she enjoyed time with friends, walking on the beach and volunteering at the North Port Library. In 2018, she moved to Kittery ME to be close to family. Everyone that ever knew Tina knew how much she loved to read. She would read whenever she could, amassing large collections of books. She also loved cars and could tell you what most of them were. Many of her friends and family will remember the black Mazda RX7 and Acuras she drove for many years. Tina is survived by her son, Jeffrey Knowlton and his wife, Jane of Milton, NH; a daughter-in-law, Melissa Knowlton of Winthrop, ME; three siblings, Michael Conley of Atkinson, ME, Debra Cole of Dover-Foxcroft, ME, and Peter Conley and his wife, Sheri, of Milo, ME; four grandchildren, Justin Knowlton, Jessica Knowlton, Michael Knowlton, and Lauren (Knowlton) Swan; along with seven great-grandchildren, Aiden Knowlton, Bennett and Graham Knowlton, Paula and Jaymie Gonzalez, Benjamin and Anderson Swan. She was predeceased by her youngest son, Jared Knowlton; and her oldest sister, Patricia Nickerson. A graveside funeral will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at North Atkinson Cemetery, with Pastor Jim Mello officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home.
