     Rufus Lord was born circa 1820 at Maine.2

     Rufus, married Lucretia M. Lovejoy at age 14, daughter of Thomas Odiorne Lovejoy and Ruby Woodworth, on 4 December 1844 at Calais, Washington, Maine, Of their five children; 'One son burned to death, one son killed by falling from team (presumably horses) at Calais, one son robbed and murdered 'in the provinces', and there were also two daughters, one of whom lived in Bath, Me.1,3'
