     Myrle, at age 20, married William S. Silsby Sr. at age 22, son of Herbert Trafton Silsby and Margaret Fannie Schoppe, on 26 July 1924.4

     Myrle Coombs died on 18 October 1988 at Bangor, Penobscot, Maine, at age 84.5,6,7 and was buried at Aurora Cemetery, Aurora, Hancock, Maine.8

     Myrle and William appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Ellsworth, Hancock, Maine, at Park Street, enumerated 25 April 1940. William was working as a lawyer in a private practice. Their children, Herbert T., William S. and Beverly A. were listed as living with them. As an item of interest, a dollar in 1940 would equal $16.26 in the year 2012. A $3.50 gallon of milk in 2012 would have cost $.21 cents in 1940.9

MYRLE C SILSBY

ELLSWORTH — Myrle C. Sitsby, 84, wife of the late Judge William Silsby, died Oct. 18, 1988, at a Bangor hospital. She was born in Winter Harbor, March 4, 1904, the daughter of Linwood and Emma (Anthony) Coombs. Myrle was a member of the Irene Chapter OES of Ellsworth and the First Congregational Church of Ellsworth. She is survived by two sons, Herbert T. Silsby and his wife Ruth of Ellsworth, William S. Silsby, Jr. and his wife, Norene of Aurora; one daughter, Beverly McLean and her husband Preston of Bangor; one brother Blaine Coombs of Winter Harbor; two sisters, Mrs. Phyllis Sprague of Milbridge and Mrs. Dorothy Farrell of Bangor; nine grandchildren, Paula Silsby of Portland, Kathryn Plouf of Otis, William Silsby III of Albany, NY, Jonathan Silsby of Bangor, Richard Silsby of Portland, Bonnie Silsby of San Diego, Calif., Cynthia Peterson of Bangor, Peter McLean of Bangor, Beth Gasch of Aurora; eight greatgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to Jordan Funeral Home, 113 Franklin Street, Ellsworth, 6:30-8 pm, Wednesday. Funeral services will be held 1 pm Thursday, at the First Congregational Church, Ellsworth. Interment will be at Aurora Cemetery. The family suggests that if friends desire they may make contributions in Myrle's memory to the First Congregational Church, Ellsworth.
