     Edwin Damon was born in December 1822 at Maine.2

     Edwin, at age 24, married Sarah H. Lovejoy at age 21, daughter of Jacob Lovejoy and Sarah Sally Townsend, on 25 April 1847 at Stetson, Penobscot, Maine.1

     There were four civil war drafts that included 776,000 individuals in that time. The records contain class, congressional district, county, state, residence, name, age on July 1, 1863, race, profession, married status, birthplace, former military service, and remarks. Edwin was listed on the Draft Log. At the time he was living at Charleston, Penobscot, Maine. The month of registration was in June 1863.
