     Marcia, at age 12, daughter of Stephen Garland and Dorothy Jane Cook, married Benjamin F. Dumphey on 6 March 1854.³

     Marcia died on 31 October 1895 at age 53.² and was buried at Lee Cemetery, Dover Foxcroft, Piscataquis, Maine.⁴

     Martha P. Garland, daughter of Benjamin Garland and Anna Drew, was born circa 1834 at Maine.¹

     Stephen Garland was born on 23 September 1814 at New Hampshire.¹

     Stephen, at age 21, married Dorothy Jane Cook at age 23 on 10 January 1836 at Exeter, Penobscot, Maine.²

     Stephen died on 8 June 1894 at age 79,¹ and was buried at Lee Cemetery, Dover Foxcroft, Piscataquis, Maine.¹

     Susie B. Garland, daughter of Clauduis Luther Garland and Ethel M. Lebroke, was born circa 1902 at Maine.¹

James Philip Hammond of Gardiner and Miss Susie Beatrice Garland of this city were married Saturday evening at the home of the officiating clergyman, Rev. A. Francis Walch. The single ring service was used and the couple were unattended. Mr. Hammond is shoecutter employed in Gardiner. After a brief wedding trip they will make their home in Augusta.^2,3
