We learn from her pension file that she became destitute and was taken in by various Garnett family members around Dennysville and Pembroke. In 1838 the U S Government passed a law granting certain Revoluntionary War widows half pay and pensions. In 1840, she applied for a pension and was granted one for five years. In 1848, the law was changed and she was able to obtain a pension for life. She received $120.00 per annum. In 1855, two years before her death she was able to apply for bounty land under a new Act of Congress. She eventually received land because an inventory of her estate after her death shows she had 50 acres.1
