     Rupert, at age 35, married Henriette Lajoie at age 20 on 17 September 1947, at St. Anne's Church, Fall River, Bristol, Massachusetts.

According to the Associated Press, Dr. Rupert Von Trapp, a member of the nationally-known Trapp Family Singers of Stowe, took as his bride yesterday Miss Henriette Lajoie, daughter of Assistant District Attorney and Mrs. J. Edward Lajoie of Fall River, Mass. The wedding took place in St. Anne s Church, Fall River. Dr. Von Trapp is a graduate of the College of Medicine of the University of Innsbruck, Austria, and the University of Vermont College of Medicine. During World War II he served in the 101th Mountain Division, earning the bronze star medal for outstanding service in Italy. The bride's father was nominated yesterday by Governor Bradford of Massachusetts to become district attorney for the southern district of the state.3


     Rupert, married Janice Tyre, daughter of James Harris Tyre and Grace Winifred Turner, in 1977.4

     Rupert died on 22 February 1992, at Stowe, Lamoille, Vermont, at age 80,1 and was buried at Trapp Family Lodge Grounds, Stowe, Lamoille, Vermont.1

     Werner von Trapp was born on 21 December 1915 at Thumersbach, Zell am See Bezirk, Salzburg, Austria.1

     Werner, at age 33, married Erika Klambauer at age 26 on 27 December 1948, at Stowe, Lamoille, Vermont.

Austrian Girl And Von Trapp Son to Wed

STOWE Dr. and Mrs. Franz Klambauer of Salzburg. Austria, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Erika, to Werner V- Trapp, son of Baroness Maria Augusta Trapp and the late Baron George von Trapp. Miss Klambauer, a graduate of the University of Vienna Agriculture Department, was a close friend and classmate of Martina Trapp. The couple became acquainted in Austria before the Trapps fled that country before the war. Werner Trapp, who served with the 10th Mountain Division in Italy, received a leave of absence following the war, and visited Miss Klambauer in Salzburg. She flew to this country, landing a month ago in Boston. The couple will be married after Christmas. Trapp who was born in Austria, has taken the tenor part in tha Trapp Family Singers, and has operated the family 700-acre farm. The couple will move to the Trapp home "Cor Unum" and take over the farm.

CELEBRATE OCCASION

The engagement was celebrated in the chapel at Cor Unum yesterday and the Rev. Franz Wasner, musical and spiritual director of the family for 15 years, blessed the engagement riijgs. In his sermon he compared the bride with Rebecca of the Old Testament, who also left her parents and her home to join a husband in a faraway country. Then the couple pronounced their intentions and promise to marry. Then they placed the rings on each others fingers, and the whole family sang Bachs Thanksgiving Chorale. Everyone went in procession from the chapel to the family graveyard to ask in silent prayer the blessings of the late father, Baron Von Trapp. . A family dinner was held. Attending, in addition to family members living here, were Dr.and Mrs. Rupert Trapp of Hartford, Conn., Werners older brother. The family danced and sang traditional songs during the evening.2,3


     Werner died on 11 October 2007, at Waitsfield, Washington, Vermont, at age 91. Hos cause of death was aspiration pneumonia, due to or consequence of basilar artery stroke..1 He was buried at Trapp Family Lodge Grounds, Stowe, Lamoille, Vermont.1
