Prof. and Mrs. Robert H. Cameron, 4401 Fifteenth avenue R., announce the engagement of their daughter, Alice Lois, to Richard G. Bostrom, son of Mrs. Wallie Bostrom, 4122 Washburn avenue N., and Elmer Bostrom, Wichita, Kan. They will be married Sept. 12 in Central Free church. Both young people attended University of Minnesota. Mr. Bostrom also studied at Bethel college in St. Paul. The bride-to-he's father is professor of mathematics at the university.1


     Alice died on 2 July 2021, at Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota.2

Bostrom, Alice L.

age 86, of Minneapolis, went to be with her Lord peacefully on July 2, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She will be remembered for her faith, intellectual curiosity, and genealogy work. She was active in the Mayflower Society, Pilgrim John Howland Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, and various writers organizations as a published author. She enjoyed needle work, sewing, and was a prolific knitter. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Robert and Ethel Cameron, infant sister, Faith, and daughter Darlene (Mike) Bottko. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Richard G; children, Kathlene (Jim) Scholljegerdes, Dorothy (Paul) Smyth, Richard E. (Beth) Bostrom; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sister Jean Cameron; other relatives and friends. Celebration of Life service: 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 30, 2021 at EagleCrest Terrace, 2925 Lincoln Drive, Roseville. Luncheon to follow.      Elmer married Ethel Mary Oslund, daughter of Nathaniel Oslund and Elin Augusta Gräs, on 12 June 1934, at Cobalt, Timiskaming, Ontario, Canada.2

     Elmer died in 1988,3 and was buried at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Temiskaming, Ontario, Canada.3

Mrs. Maria Augusta Trapp of Stowe has announced the engagement of her daughter, Eleonore, to Hugh David Campbell, son of Mrs. Wallace Campbell of Peace-dale, R. I., and the late Mr. Campbell. Miss Trapp is the leading soprano in the Trapp Family Singers which have given over 1,200 concerts all over North America, So. America and Europe. Miss Trapp is the daughter of I the late George Trapp and a graduate of Mt. St. Mary Academy in Burlington. Mr. Campbell was graduated ftom Milton Academy and Yale University, class of 51.2


     Hugh, at age 24, married Eleonore Elizabeth von Trapp at age 23, daughter of Capt. Georg Ludwig Ritter von Trapp and Maria Augusta Kutschera, on 13 June 1954, at Stowe, Lamoille, Vermont.3

     Hugh died at age 89, on 1 October 2019, at Vermont,1 and was buried at Common Cemetery, Waitsfield Common, Washington, Vermont.4

     Hugh appeared on the 1930 Federal Census, enumerated 12 April 1930, of Providence, Providence, Rhode Island in the household of his parents, Wallace and Mary.5

HUGH'S OBITUARY
U.S. Veteran Waitsfield, VT

Hugh David Campbell, age 89, of Northfield and formerly of Waitsfield, died peacefully on October 1, 2019, surrounded by his wife and family. Hugh was born on February 20, 1930 in Providence, RI, the son of Wallace (Galena, IL) and Mary Bushnell Hazard Campbell (Peace Dale, RI). He was the loving and much-loved husband of Eleonore “Lorli” Trapp Campbell, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage. Hugh was graduated from Milton Academy, Yale University and Middlebury College (MA). Hugh’s work as an educator (French, college placement, coaching soccer) took them to Canterbury School in New Milford, CT, The Roxbury Latin School in West Roxbury, MA, and Rocky Hill School in East Greenwich, RI, where he served as Headmaster. In 1975, they moved to Waitsfield, VT, where he worked as a financial planner with IDS/American Express now Ameriprise. Growing up in Providence and South County, Hugh loved swimming at Narragansett and fishing in Narrow River with his dad. Hugh enjoyed fly fishing in Vermont, Colorado, and Utah’s Green River. He loved spending time with his 18 grandchildren, working in his woodshop and in the garden, and the challenge of watercolor painting. He found Vermont’s beauty everywhere and in every season. The fishing and painting came together when he wrote and illustrated a children’s book on the life of a trout. He cherished his friendship with God and was an active church member and community leader. Hugh was a devoted father to his seven daughters- Elizabeth (Howard Saxner) Peters of Cambridge, MA; Peggy C. Sanders of Charlotte, NC; Jeanie (Willam Lero) Lero of Hollis, NH; Polly (William Moore) Moore of Waitsfield, VT; Erika (Kevin Copeland) Copeland of Hayden, CO; Hope (Mark McAndrew) McAndrew of East Hardwick, VT; and Martina C. Price of Jericho, VT. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandsons. Another grandson, Timothy David Price, predeceased him. Family and friends are invited to meet on Saturday, October 12th at 10:00 am at the United Church of Christ in Waitsfield, VT, to celebrate Hugh’s life. Burial will follow at the Common Cemetery, 1027-1103 Joslin Hill Road, Waitsfield. A reception will follow. Online condolences may be left at www.dayfunerals.com.
