Wallace Campbell II was born circa 1879 at Illinois.1
Wallace, married Mary Bushnell Hazard at age 25, daughter of Rowland Gibson Hazard and Mary Pierpont Bushnell, in January 1916, at Peace Dale, Rhode Island.
The U.S. officially entered World War II on 8 December 1941 following an attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Just about a year before that, in October 1940, President Roosevelt had signed into law the first peacetime selective service draft in U.S. history, due to rising world conflicts. After the U.S. entered WWII a new selective service act required that all men between ages 18 and 65 register for the draft. Between November 1940 and October 1946, over 10 million American men were registered. The Fourth Registration, often referred to as the "old man's registration", was conducted on 27 April 1942 and registered men who born on or between 28 April 1877 and 16 February 1897 - men who were between 45 and 64 years old - and who were not already in the military. Wallace filled out a draft card for World War II on 25 April 1942, while living at Tower Hill Road, South Kingstown, Washington, Rhode Island. He was working for "Stumoes (?), Chaffee, and Hazard, Rhode Island.3
Wallace died on 5 April 1950.4

In the little mill village of Peacedale R. I., near Narragansett Pier there was a brilliant wedding today attended by society men and women from many cities. The bride was Miss Mary Bushnell Hazard, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rowland Gibson Hazard whose family founded the mills of the town, and the bridegroom was Mr. Wallace Campbell, son of the late Col. Campbell and Mrs. Campbell of Chicago. The wedding was in the village church where the sisters of the bride, Mrs. Robert H. L. Goddard, jr and Mrs. Rush Sturges also were married, the latter too, on New Years day. A wedding breakfast at Holly House, the Hazard home, followed the ceremony. Miss Hope K. Hodgman of Providence, was maid of honor and the bridesmaids were, Miss Susan Bacon of Peacedale, cousin of the bride and Miss Eliza Campbell of Chicago, sister of the bridegroom. Mr. Hugh Campbell of Chicago was his brothers best man. Little Elizabeth Sturges was the flower girl and little Robert H. I. Goddard 3d and Benjamin Sturges nephews of the bride, walked in the procession.1,2 MISS HAZARD A BRIDE
