Laura Loree Pollack Obituary

Laura Loree Pollack Laura Loree Pollack passed from this life to her heavenly home June 26, 2011, after a short illness. Laura was born November 1, 1916 in Kent, Washington and later moved with her family to the Ballard area of Seattle, WA where she met her future husband, Robert Pollack. They were married July 27, 1933. Laura and Bob had four sons, William Lee, Robert Charles, Sidney Renold and Stephen Loren. The family moved from Seattle to Juneau, Alaska in 1944 and returned to Ballard in 1948. In 1950 the family moved to Snohomish, Washington. In 1965 Laura and Bob moved to Everett and then in 1975 moved to Cape Horn on the Skagit River near Concrete, Washington. After Bob's death in 1990 Laura moved to Everett and shared a home with her sister, Vera, until the two of them moved to The Village at Granite Falls where she resided until the time of her death. Laura had worked for and retired from Scott Paper Company in Everett.Her husband, Robert; son, Sidney; sisters, Olive, Dorothy and Vera; brothers, Kenneth, Ray, Bob and Renold; and granddaughter, Sandra, all preceded her in death.Laura is survived by sons, William L. and wife, Doris, Robert C. and wife, Fay and Stephen L. Pollack. She is also survived by her brother, William Thonssen; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, July 1, 2011 at Snohomish United Methodist Church with burial following at G.A.R. Cemetery, Snohomish.      Jacobus L. Lefferts was born on 9 August 1757.1 He married Maria Lott, daughter of John Lott and Aeltje (Altie) Rapalje, on 7 August 1780.
The following notice of the marriage appeared in the N. Y. Mercury of Aug. 14, 1780: 'Last Monday Mr. Jacobus L. Lefferts of this city, merchant, was married to Miss Maria Lott, daughter of the late Mr. Lott, of Long Island ; a young lady of great beauty and merit, with a large fortune.2'


     Jacobus died on 4 September 1799, at age 42.1
