     Sarah and John appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Glenwood Landing, Nassau, New York, enumerated 2 May 1940. John was working for a power company. His neice, Florence Green was with them. Their children, Loraine and Nancy J. were listed as living with them. As an item of interest, a dollar in 1940 would equal $21.35 in the year 2022. A $3.50 gallon of milk in 2022 would have cost $.17 cents in 1940.3

     Sarah and John appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Oyster Bay, Nassau, New York, enumerated 14 April 1950. John was a lineman for an electric company. Their children, Loraine and Nancy J. were listed as living with them.4

Sarah (nee Green), of Glenwood Landing, L.I., on October 31st, 1974. Beloved wife of John. Dear mother of Lorraine Cegtta and Nancy Van Dyke. Also survived by one sister, Emllv Strauch and five grandchildren. Mass of the Christian Burial at St. Boniface Church, Sea Cliff, on Monday, Nov. 4. at 10 AM. Reposing at M. L. Blancont Funeral Home, 62 Cedar Swamp Rd., Glen Cove. Interment Hotv Rood Cemetery, Westbury, L.I. Visiting hours 2-5 PM and 7-10 PM.5

     Victor F. Greis was born on 5 January 1912 at Brooklyn, New York.1

     Victor married Ethel Jeanette Wiggins, daughter of Forrest Whitmore Wiggins and Esther Elis Van Dyke, circa August 1938, at New York.

Mlss Ethel Jeanette Wiggins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Wiggins of Dikeman St., became tha bride of Victor Greis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Greis of Marvin St., yesterday in a simple ceremony in the rectory of St George's Episcopal Church. The Rev. John S. Haight performed the ceremony. Following a reception at the Garden City Hotel the couple left for a motor tour.2


     Victor died on 17 March 2001, at age 89,1 and was buried at Greenfield Cemetery, Uniondale, Nassau, New York.1,3
