     Edward married Mildred Voorhees, daughter of Richard V. Voorhees and Martha Backer.1

     Edward died on 18 August 1975, at age 73,1 and was buried at Peapack Union Cemetery, Gladstone, Somerset, New Jersey.1

Edward M. Kavanaugh

BEDMINSTER - Edward M. Kavanaugh, 73, of Black River Road, Pottersville, died Monday (Aug. 18, 1975) at Somerset Hospital. Born in New York, he had been a resident of Pottersville since 1944, and was formerly of Gladstone where he was employed as a mechanic for Hill's Chevrolet for many years. He retired five years ago as a mechanic for Somerset County. Mr. Kavanaugh was an exempt member and a former chief of the Peapack-Gladstone Fire Company, and would have been with the company 50 years this October. He also was a member of the Leisure Club, a senior citizens group in Gladstone. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mildred Voorhees Kavanaugh; a son, Police Chief Vincent E. Kavanaugh of Bedminster; a daughter, Mrs. Robert V. Workman of Pottersville; a sister, Mrs. Alfred Backshall of Morris Plains, and four grandchildren. The Layton Funeral Home is handling arrangements.2
