     Sarah Eldert Suydam, daughter of Daniel Lott Suydam and Jane Wyckoff Van Dyke, was born on 12 October 1864.1
     Sarah was baptized on 5 May 1865.3

     Sarah married Stephen J. Voorhies, son of Jacobus Voorhies and Eliza Jane Van Dyke, circa 1885.2,4

     As part of a list of heirs and next of kin, Sarah Eldert Suydam, residing at 2566 Ocean Avenue, Gravesend, Brooklyn, New York, was listed as part of the "Notice of Petition for Letters of Administration", probate of the estate of Jane Wyckoff Van Dyke on 15 March 1912.5

     Sarah died on 2 July 1934, at age 69,6,7 and was buried at Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, Kings, New York.8

     Sarah and Stephen appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Brooklyn, Kings, New York, at Ocean Avenue, enumerated 18 June 1900 Stephen was working as a carpenter. They had a servant in the home. The census indicated Sarah had four children, with three living.. Their children, Jennie, Stephen and Jacobus were listed as living with them.9

     Sarah and Stephen appeared on the 1905 New York Census of Brooklyn, Kings, New York, at Ocean Avenue, enumerated 1 June 1905. Stephen was working as a carpenter. Their children, Jacobus, Jennie and Stephen were listed as living with them.10

     Sarah and Stephen appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Brooklyn, Kings, New York, at Ocean Avenue, enumerated 20 April 1910. Stephen was working as a carpenter in a moulding mill Their children, Jacobus, Jennie and Stephen were listed as living with them..11

     Sarah and Stephen appeared on the 1915 New York Census of Brooklyn, Kings, New York, enumerated 1 June 1915. Stephen was working in the lumber field. Their children, Jacobus were listed as living with them.12

     Sarah and Stephen appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Brooklyn, Kings, New York, enumerated 15 January 1920. Stephen was a merchant in lumber. Their children, Jacobus, Jennie and Stephen were listed as living with them.13

     Sarah and Stephen appeared on the 1925 New York Census of Brooklyn, Kings, New York, at Ocean Avenue, enumerated 1 June 1925. Stephen was a merchant in lumber..14
