     Ethel and Edward appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Seattle, King, Washington, at 4015 Woodlawn Ave, enumerated 9 April 1930. Edward owned his home valued at $5500.00. They had a radio set at home. He was a proprietor of an auto sales business. Their children, Juanita Hildegard and Bette A. were listed as living with them.5

     Ethel and Edward appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Seattle, King, Washington, at 4015 Woodlawn Ave, enumerated 4 April 1940. At this time, Edward was not working and Ethel was working as a housekeeper for a private home. Their children, Bette A. were listed as living with them. As an item of interest, a dollar in 1940 would equal $21.35 in the year 2022. A $3.50 gallon of milk in 2022 would have cost $.17 cents in 1940.6

     Melva married Allen Waldo Wickman, son of Oscar Allen Wickman and Lydia Charlotte Cassel, on 7 October 1933.1

     Melva died on 21 September 2002, at age 90,3 and was buried at Goleta Cemetery, Goleta, Santa Barbara, California.4
