Catharine Van Dyke, wife of William S. Tindall
     Catharine (Kate) Van Dyke was also known as Tyndall.6
     Catharine (Kate) Van Dyke, daughter of Peter Albert Van Dyke and Ruth Hendrickson, was born on 10 September 1833 at Flatlands, Kings, New York.7,8

     Catharine married William Sears Tindall.6

     Catharine died on 1 April 1891, at Flatlands, Kings, New York, at age 57. Her cause of death was listed as Pneumonia9,10 and was buried at Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn, Kings, New York.11

     She was probably one of the two females under age 5 listed in the household of her father, Peter Albert Van Dyke, in the 1840 Federal Census of Flatlands, Kings, New York.12

     Catharine (Kate) Van Dyke appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Flatlands, Kings, New York, in the household of her mother, Ruth.13

     Catharine and William appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Flatlands, Kings, New York, enumerated 26 June 1860. William was working as a policeman. Their children, Ella Elizabeth, Hannah Jane and Lucy Sears were listed as living with them.14

     Catharine and William appeared on the 1865 New York Census of Flatlands, Kings, New York, enumerated 1 June 1865. Their children, Ella Elizabeth, Hannah Jane, Lucy Sears, William N. and Van Dyke were listed as living with them.15

     Catharine and William appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Flatlands, Kings, New York, enumerated 27 August 1870. He was working as a constable. Their children, Ella Elizabeth, Hannah Jane, Lucy Sears, William N., Van Dyke, Clarence and Amos were listed as living with them.16

     Catharine and William appeared on the 1875 New York Census of Flatlands, Kings, New York, enumerated June 1875. He was working as a farmer. Their children, Lucy Sears, William N., Van Dyke, Clarence and Amos were listed as living with them.17

     Catharine and William appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Flatlands, Kings, New York, enumerated 19 June 1880. William was listed as a farm laborer. Their children, Lucy Sears, William N., Van Dyke, Clarence and Amos were listed as living with them.18

at Flatlands, L. I., on Wednesday, April 1, 1891, CATHARINE VAN DYKE, wife of the late William S. Tyndall, in the 58th year of her age.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral at Flatlands Reformed Church on Saturday, April 4, 1891, at 3 P.M.19
