     Olive M. Bowers was born on 16 June 1920 at Grand Falls Plantation, Maine.2

     Olive, at age 16, married Delmont Horace Engstrom at age 19, son of Oscar Averill Engstrom and Stella M. Curtis, on 27 February 1937 at Maine.1

     Olive M. Bowers died on 16 July 1989 at age 69.3 and was buried at West End Cemetery, Lowell, Maine.3

Lt Ruth Smith Weds Lt Paul D Box Jr In New Mexico PATTEN June 12— Mrs. Adrianna Parker of Patten has announced the marriage of her granddaughter, Lieut. Ruth Smith of the Army Air Corps to Lieut. Paul D. Box Jr., of Omaha, Neb. The ceremony was performed at the chapel of the Alamogorda Army Air Base, Alamorgorda, New Mexico, by Chaplain George W. Goldthwaite, base chaplain. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul D. Box of Omaha, Neb., and is a graduate bt the University of Omaha He is a first lieutenant in the ordnance department and is located at present at the William Beaumont General hospital, El Paso, Texas. The bride who is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar S. Smith Is a graduate of Patten academy and the Eastern Maine General hospital school of nursing. She enlisted in the Army Nurse Corps In August 1942, shortly after completing her training and received her basic training at Bradley Field, Conn., going on to Bowman Field Louisville, Ky for her training as a flying nurse. At the completion of her training she was sent to the Chlna-Burma-India theatre where she was one of the first six American nurses to join the 14th Army Air Force, the Flying Tigers. Here she served as an air evacuatlon nurse with one of the most advanced bases and worked at a small dispensary when not flying with her patients, being 14 months in this theatre. She wears the Air Medal for 150 flying combat hours the Presidentlal citation and the CBI campaign ribbon with two battle stars. She returned to the United States in November 1944 and after a leave was assigned to duty here in this country. She Is now located at the Station hospital Biggs Field, El Paso, Texas. The young couple have been using their leaves for a wedding trip and visited relatives in Omaha, Chicago, Detroit, and Boston en route to Patten, where they spent a part of the past week with Mrs. Parker .They left Saturday for El Paso where they will be stationed pending orders for both.2
