St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Brewer was the scene of a charming wedding Saturday at 9 a.m. when Miss Linda Catherine Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry C. Brown, Penobscot Terrace, Brewer, became the bride of Robert Edward Kiah Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Kiah, 320 North Main Street, Brewer. Bouquets of pink and white gladioli decorated the altar for the double-ring ceremony. The Rev. Richard P. Rice officiated. Wedding music Including the traditional marches was played by Mrs. James Osgood, organist, who also accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Joseph Murphy, as she sang "On This Day O Beautiful Mother", "Ave Verum", "Ave Maria", and "Panis Angelicus". The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attractive in a chapel length gown of taffeta with a tulip train, fashioned with a basque bodice, a high scoop neckline, and long pointed sleeves. Re-embroidered alen-eon lace trimmed the bodice and front of the skirt. Her elbow-length veil of sflk illusion was attached to a lace cap with pearls and sequins. She wore a pearl necklace, the gift of the bridegroom and carried a prayer book with a white orchid and satin streamers. The maid of honor, Miss Linda Grover of Brewer, was attired in a street-length gown of pale pink satin brocade with matching headpiece and veil. The bridesmaids, Miss Pat Roy and Miss Beverly Brown of Portland, wore street-length gowns of pale blue satin brocade with matching headpieces and veils. The attendants carried colonial bouquets of pink and white carnations and babys breath. The best man was Dennis, Kiah, brother of the bridegroom. The ushers were John Flynn Jr., of Brewer, Charles Taylor of Bridgton, Lt Paul Kiah of Fort Bragg, N. C., and James DeVere III, of Coaldwick, N. J. A reception followed at the Penobscot Valley Country Club in Orono. Baskets of white carnations and blue Shasta daisies were used in decorating. The guest book was clrculated by Mrs. Thomas Largay, sister of the bridegroom. Assisting in serving were Miss Kathy Hamm of Brewer and Mrs. George Brennan of Dover, N.H. Mr. and Mrs. Kiah left by motor on a trip to the White Mountains and Lake Champlain. The bride was attired in a white linen suit with navy and red accessories, complemented with a white orchid corsage. The bride was graduated from Brewer High School, class of 1962, and attended Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Portland. She is a member of the Brewer Sub-Deb Club. The bridegroom, a graduate of Brewer High School in I960, and the University of Maine, 1964, is affiliated with the Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He is employed by Bancroft and Martin in Brewer. Mr. and 'Mrs. Kiah will reside at 320 North Main Street, Brewer.1,2

     Mary, at age 24, daughter of Nathaniel Brown and Abigail Colesworthy, married Abiel Lovejoy at age 26, son of Hezekiah Lovejoy and Hannah Austin, on 14 December 1758 at Charlestown, Suffolk, Massachusetts.1

     Mary Brown died on 19 January 1812 at Sidney, Kennebec, Maine, at age 77.3,1
